M Kaz went to see ‘Disclosure Day’ at the movies with Aunty M yesterday. I know that because as soon as she arrived home she told M Sooz – and me – about it. There were animals in it – a moose, a fox and a racoon and some birds – red ones – not surprising given Steven Spielberg’s role with the movie – he directed and produced it and the script was based on a story he wrote. It wasn’t just the cardinals (birds) that were red – there were also red dresses in Margaret Fairchild’s wardrobe and M Kaz said that reminded her of the red coat the little girl wore in ‘Schindler’s List’ (another Spielberg film). The good news is that she finally stopped talking about it and went off to make notes about some small issues she thought were problems with the plot line. How far can you drag a car under a train without it disintergrating with the force/pressure of impact/friction with the tracks? Used to be M Kaz could just go to a movie and enjoy it for what it was – without wanting to pull it apart – and we know she loves films by ‘the dinosaur man’.

It has been cold here – M Kaz has stored away her shorts until it gets a bit warmer and both she and M Sooz are wearing ‘trackie dacks’ now. That’s what they’re calling them and I admit I had to look them up to find out what they are (besides long almost furry pants):
From the interweb: The “dacks” portion of the word stems from a popular 1930s British trouser brand called DAKS (originally a portmanteau of “dad” and “slacks”). Over the generations, it integrated into Aussie vernacular to describe pants in general.
Who knew?

I have been sleeping most nights in with the Mummies on their bed – snuggling up next to M Kaz’s legs. I know she says I take up a lot of room but I don’t think she knows what she’s talking about. I had her take a photo of where I was in the bed this morning when she got up – I had been sleeping peacefully on her legs just before then. Two inches of room is surely enough for anybody!!!
We have had a little rain here too and one of my Toady friends was out in the front yard the other morning when M Kaz was going off to the water to take photographs of the sun getting up and a bird with a branch. It was fun to watch how high M Kaz jumped when she almost walked into Toady.
