Saturday (6 April 2024)

Saturday. The day the mummies always get up early and go out to breakfast with Aunty M, Bluey and his parents. They went to a different cafe this morning. They’ve been there before but not with the others. I think it was okay although it was a bit noisy, pretty busy, the chairs were uncomfortable, the mugs were the wrong shape so they had to have takeaway cups, and … well, Bluey could be in the cafe but not up on a chair. The food must have been okay because they didn’t mention it.

They are still watching Midsomer Murders in the evenings and I’m doing my best not to get addicted to it too but it is getting harder. I wonder if they’ll ever get interested in another detective?

M Kaz spent time in her office this afternoon – and then out of it and then back in it. I tried to tell her it would be easier and more time-efficient if she took a bag or something in to the office to put the rubbish and recycling in rather than bringing each piece out one at a time. I think she mumbled something about having to “get more steps”. I left her to it and went in search of a dinosaur to play with. I found one too – and we were having a wonderful time until someone (I’m looking at you M Kaz) took them outside – out the front too so there was no chance I’d be able to get to them. I just hope they can find some new friends out there.

Thursday (4 April 2024)

Who knew the chairs moved? I was sitting on Aunty M’s chair – not watching Midsomer Murders because we all know how much I don’t like it – when M Kaz came over and touched something on the side of the chair and the whole seat started moving beneath me! It went forward and then it went back – and then M Kaz was moving me forward on the towel on my seat “so I didn’t get my bottom caught in it”. You never know what those Mummies are going to get up to! Except work – M Kaz has only locked me out of our office a couple of times this week – and come to think of it, she hasn’t locked herself in there that much either. I think it’s because she’s still feeling poorly (Day 12 of her lurgy now by my count)- so poorly that she took herself off to the doctor today – and came back with a new lot of potions and pills. Hopefully they will help her. I don’t know about M Sooz but I’m a bit over all the sick person noises around here! I don’t mean to seem unsympathetic but they are a bit (understatement) ghastly!

It rained a bit today so I just rested Outback and in my bedroom – when I wasn’t being an attentive Nigey, sitting at M Kaz’s feet, giving her kisses and cuddles. Hmm. I wonder if this has anything to do with the note on the whiteboard about M Kaz and I going off to have our nails done at the V-E-T in the morning.

And speaking of the rains, I can’t help but wonder if more – a lot more rain, maybe like a flood – is on the way. M Kaz is stocking up on my very favourite cat cookies – there are 5 … yes 5! … packets of them in the cupboard now. I haven’t seen her sneaking any of my favourite tinnies in yet though. I hope she doesn’t expect me to just make do with cat crunchies! That’s ridiculousness M Kaz.

Saturday (30 March 2024)

The new furries.

You never know what M Kaz is going to come home with when she goes out shopping by herself. Today, it was more furry animals – not real ones like me, of course. These are hand puppets which she found waiting for her at Aldi. There’s a giraffe, a lion and an elephant – all of them fairly cute but nowhere near as cute as I am. Ask anybody. They’ll tell you. Hmmm – I’m sure that Aunty M would too if you asked her – although she did think they were cute as well. Although now that I look at them in the photograph that M Kaz took of them, the lion looks a bit scary now.

Dinosaur tail

That’s not the only scary thing at Jannie at the moment. M Kaz found the tail of one of my dinosaurs and she is still frightened about what size it (the dinosaur) is. She even took a photograph of the tail with my foot next to it for comparison – or maybe it was for identification. We won’t know until she finds it.

It’s been fairly quiet around here still because M Kaz is still off-colour despite all the pills and potions she’s been taking – and the amount of time she’s been “taking it easy”. They did go to breakfast this morning though, so it was nice to have them both out of the house for a while so I could get up to mischief (as if!)

Me in my Xmas house at Easter

It’s Easter and I’m just waiting for the Eggs and Bunnies to get here. I’m not sure when that’s supposed to happen but I’m hoping it will be soon. I’m a bit peckish for something that isn’t cat crunchies or tinned fishie things. You hear that Mummies?!

Lion still looks scary

Tuesday (26 March 2024)

M Kaz isn’t any fun when she’s not well.  When they came back from Toowoomba on Sunday afternoon, she went straight to bed and hadn’t really been up since – except for this morning when she had to get up to take Ravi to the wheels man.  I’ve been doing my best to look after her – not that I can do that much except to stick close by, sleep in the middle of her bed with her – that sort of thing.  She seems to appreciate it, which is nice of her.  M Sooz has been keeping her company and tending to her too.

I missed them over the weekend especially since they were seeing Wayne in Toowoomba along with the rest of the family.  I hope they’re planning to stay home a bit now – Sydney one weekend, Toowoomba the next. They need to stay home with me on the weekends!  Still, it wasn’t all bad because Aunty M came to spend time with me!

I’m going to have to have words with M Kaz about the cat grass.  She has really let the team down on that one.  The pot out the back is far from happy and I think the one (note that:  one Not two) is in need of some help as well.  I always knew she wasn’t much of a ‘green thumb’ but she was doing okay with it for a little while there.

It has been raining at Jannie again and there have been a few dinosaurs around but I haven’t seen Kermie or Lennie for absolute ages. Maybe I’m asleep when they come by – I hope so, because I’d hate to think that anything had happened to them.
M Kaz came home all excited from the post office yesterday (hmmm she must have snuck out of bed and out of the house while I wasn’t watching) because she had her delivery from the online shop – and she had a yellow long-sleeved shirt.  It will be interesting to see how long it is before she starts wearing it – or whether she’s going to save it for when they go on holidays in October.  I don’t mind that they’re going to leave me here then because Uncle Wayne is going to come to stay with me!
