Bumbershoot weather …

The rain is back. There was thunder again this afternoon – just like yesterday, but there was quite a bit of rain today. I hope this means Kermie will be around later tonight.  It would be good to see him again.

Could there ever be too many boxes in the world? I think not. I’m trying out one of my older ones today – it takes a bit to get into it, but once in, it is very comfortable! I may not be getting back up for a couple of days – unless something important crops up – like dinner.

The Mummies have a brand new bumbershoot. Before they knew they used to be called bumbershoots – they call me bumbershoot from time to time – it was called an umbrella.  There are no bonus points for guessing the new bumbershoot came from Aldi. The Mummies like getting stuff from Aldi – they say it’s not their fault, they didn’t know about Aldi until A.M. started talking Aldi up big time. That, of course, doesn’t explain the trumpet M Kaz bought over a year ago or … well, no-one needs to know all of the Mummies’ secrets.

They didn’t need the bumbershoot when they were down at the Broadwater this morning.

The Mummies are home …

They’re back… they’re back. The Mummies are back. I’m not sure where they disappeared to but they were gone overnight and they left me here, home alone, without even one light on. I know I can see in the dark but I don’t think Lennie can and I worry that they will get scared out there by themselves. Poor Lennie. I kept watch for them last night but … no luck.  Which reminds me, Kermie has still been keeping himself scarce. I hope he hasn’t gotten himself into any trouble. I don’t think he would be able to run very fast if he was being chased … not like Lennie who is as fast as a rocket.

Aunty M came around to look after me today – and she brought her Mother (that would be Olga aka Mouse) with her.  She’s the most senior person I know … and believe me, I do know a few older people. It was good to see her again … and good that Aunty M came too because I was missing her … and wet food, and fresh cookies, and a clean tray. Thank you Aunty M!
The Mummies didn’t do much today after they got home today, although M Kaz did lock me out of the office for a couple of hours as she did “work” for “Peter”.  She doesn’t let me help while she’s doing that … but when it comes to her studies, she practically begs me to help her!  And who wouldn’t want my help?

I am still loving the box Aunty M gave me the other day!

Lucky me!

How lucky am I? Let me answer that. I am exceptionally lucky: Aunty M came over to visit today … and she brought me a new box! It’s the cutest box I’ve seen for ages – and it’s all mine! Thank you Aunty M! M Kaz took photographs of me in my new box. I like the ones taken from the side much better than any of the others – especially the ones from directly overhead – I know it’s probably an optical illusion but it looks like I’m hanging over the sides of my new box! And it makes my bottom look
big … and I’m sure that wasn’t Aunty M’s intention.

Get away Crocodile … This bottom is not as big and juicy as it looks. Nothing to eat here!

And she brought me some treats too. Don’t tell her but when M Kaz gave me some later, I didn’t care for them. I know I haven’t seen the last of them though but it will be the same the next time someone offers them to me. Have I already said I don’t like them? That bears repeating!
I wasn’t the only one to get pressies either. There were birthday pressies for M Kaz too. We are both very lucky … because I get to play with M Kaz’s toys too!

You first …

Hmmm … what kind of trick was that M Kaz?  You first?

That was how that Mother lured me out of the bedroom this morning when I went to wake her so we could have some Nigey-M Kaz time.  Okay, it was just 3 in the morning … but she had been up.  I saw her playing Wordle on her phone just before that!  But no … it was too early to get up to do things with Nigey … but of course she didn’t tell me that straight away.  She hopped out of bed and then went over to the door with me and said “You first” and indicated that I should go out the doorway before her … which I did – only to have her close the door behind me – with her still in the bedroom!  Not nice … not nice at all. The other Mummy doesn’t do that .. she gets up in the middle of the night to sit with me and talk with me and tell her about all kinds of stuff, and she offers to share her cheese and crackers with me too.  But does the other Mother do any of that? No, she just wants to sleep during the night – except for when she plays Wordle in the wee small hours of the morning or reads the Smart News app or … well, you get the idea … anything but spending quality time with me!
