Pet photographer …

Well… let’s see them talk their way out of this one. How could Sooz and Kaz think I would not know they have been out canoodling with my ArchNemesis – and being impressed by her “shake paws” trick. And would they tell you that she didn’t do it as soon as Aunty M asked her to? And that it took a treat/bribe for her to do it? I think not.

Yep … still no contest!

And did Kaz really have to take photographs of Mimi? I suppose she did because how else would we have the wherewithall to answer that most pressing of questions … how much cuter than Mimi am I?  Yes, I know there’s no contest really but we have to let MiMi think she’s at least in the running.  She may be my ArchNemesis but I have no desire to hurt her feelings.

See … really no contest!

Do you think Kaz will ever let me borrow her camera? I’d really like to get a photograph out the kitchen window this evening.  I know they are really curious about what it is I watch out there every night … and the best way would be to show them.  Afterall, don’t they say that a picture is worth a thousand words?  Hmmm … does Kaz’s camera have a night-vision setting … we’ll have to check that … and get her to show me how to use it … and how to set up the tripod.  Ha ha … I can see it now: Nigey … pet photographer!

This is a messy pic Kaz took of me being a sentinel at the kitchen window.
And this is me with the legs of a strange thing Kaz was using yesterday … I think they call it an “ironing board” … Kaz certainly looked a bit bored while she was using it!

Hmmph … Rexes

I don’t know why Kaz thinks I’ve gone crazy for dinosaurs – that’s her … and it’s happened since she went to see Jurassic Creatures with her family last week.  Since then there’s been the Happy Meal from Maccas which we know she ordered specifically for the dinosaur in the box, and the Red dinosaur from the Jurassic Creatures show – and now the Roaring Walking T-Rex she brought home yesterday. It’s all well and good but for goodness sake Kaz you don’t have to have it chase me all over the living room!

Me … and Rex.

That being said, Rex isn’t too bad. He’s quite fun except for the way his eyes glow orange and that his mouth drips glows red (I try not to think what/who that might be from!).

Rex … and me.

It’s a bit hot here and I keep trying out different sleeping places hoping they’ll be cool – and they mostly are. Yes, yes I know I can be in with Sooz and the air conditioning during the day (they still lock me out at night) but truly I would need another fur coat to not feel chilly in there … I don’t know how Sooz does it although I suspect that she sometimes has her electric blanket on … REALLY!  Oh wait, that’s not fair. She suffers from arthritis and the heat from the blanket helps with the pain.

Horse play …

In the starting box … oops, no, that’s one of the Ollie Tedesco drawers.

Kaz forgot to go down to Surfers Paradise this morning to see the horses gallop along the beach. With a little help from Sooz and a visit from Mimi (aka my  Archnemesis), Syl and An’s Blue and Tilly and maybe even this Pip we’ve heard about (she has recently moved in with Ma) and a generous amount of sand in the back yard, we could recreate it for her.  What fun it would be! We could have little jockeys and saddles and silks and maybe bridles or harnesses … oh wait, nope deal’s off!   You will never see this little tabby domestic short hair cat in a harness!

I am freaking Kaz and Sooz out in the evenings now. I sit up near the sink peering out the kitchen window swishing my tail and looking like I’m watching something. Kaz comes over and tries to see, even turning out the light in case bugs are being attracted to the other side of the window and it’s that that I’m looking at. Heh heh … suckers!  It’s just like when they fell for the “Snake … Snake” ruse a little while ago.  It serves them right too because they’re talking about changing my name to Nora.  Nora?  Why Nora? Because yesterday when Sooz and I were home alone I may have jumped on the bed and letting her pat me when my teeth slipped and bit her. Okay it may have happened a bit later in the day as well. When Kaz came home there was some discussion about it and at that point one of them said that I was a bit of a Gnawer. It didn’t take then long to suggest they should have called me that … Gnawer … or, because of their love of wordplay, Nora for short. Not happy Jan… or whatever your names are!

Seriously … do I look like a Nora?  WAIT … where’s my other leg?

A Nigey’s work is never done. Today I’m supervising installation of the new hot water system – my favourite tall person Aiden is doing it but for some reason he hasn’t been inside to let me sniff his socks yet.

Supervising … supervising … supervising ….

Visitors

Who were all those people here yesterday?  I have met some of them before – Kaz’s relatives they are but they were all a bit younger then … except for the new one … I think they call her RJ – I haven’t seen her before.  They say she’s cute … but I’m not sure about that – and I certainly don’t think she’s cuter than I am (see my previous post … and if you think she is, we may need to talk about that!). But it was good they came because Kaz went off with them to do something with dinosaurs – and she also said something about Smurfs, but I don’t see what the connection could possibly be … dinosaurs lived millions and millions of years and years ago and Smurfs well they’re just magical creatures – a bit like me actually.  I could be blue – if they let me.

When Kaz and the others came back from the dinosaurs, they had a present for me … a … a … well, it has a name I can’t pronounce so I’m just going to call it “Red” – and luckily it doesn’t seem as though it’s going to eat much … otherwise it wouldn’t be able to stay.  They have enough trouble working out what I’m going to eat, let alone what something like Red would eat … especially if it’s as fussy an eater as they say I am.

The family weren’t the only ones who were here yesterday. The electrician came to install the new oven – the oven was delivered a couple of weeks ago and Kaz had been storing it in the garage … and Kaz dragged it from the garage into the house this morning:  she had to drag it because it was too big for her trolley.

It’s a pity she didn’t move the old oven out … when the electrician did, he had it on his trolley and it overbalanced and the glass in the door smashed in the courtyard.  It made a great sound!  Unfortunately he didn’t manage to get it all up on the concrete or out of the grass … and Kaz was saying that she doesn’t understand how he managed to get glass in the grass in the front yard!

They haven’t finished with men coming to do jobs for them either … they had the man come and do their yards on Tuesday, and the man who came to fix their hot water (they’re so much easier to be around when they’re able to have hot showers) is coming on Wednesday to take the temporary system away – because the new one is being installed by the tall man … that would be Aiden – who always takes his shoes off when he comes inside … and I love his socks!
