Brrrrrrr ….

Me … under my blankie on the couch!

It’s beginning to get a bit cold around here and I’ve taken to sleeping with my blankie on the couch some nights. Yes, we all know I would prefer to be in the bedroom with the Mummies but we also know they do not trust me to not turn off Kaz’s sleep machine in the wee small hours, or run around like a mad thing, or even chew on them while they sleep (I definitely would not do that)!  It’s 18° at the moment and I was just trying to get under my blanket even though it’s still relatively early because Sooz is already in bed and I am staying out here to keep Kaz company as she watches her new series about people flying “Away” to Mars.

Speaking of flying, Aunty An was here yesterday to help the Mummies clean up the house and put all my sit-in toys and boxes on the couch while she took the naughty vacuum cleaner for a walk around the house.

Everything bundled up off the floor so Aunty An can get rid of all that pesky brown snow!
That’s me “guarding” Kaz’s sleep machine!
You have to be in the bag before someone can “let the cat out of the bag”!!
When you have to stay off the floors, the table is the best place to be!

Stringey thing … traitor!

I am not stupid Kaz! I know once the stringey thing comes out at bedtime you do not have my best interests at heart. Yes, I am so on to you Kaz … which is why I darted under the bed when you started the luring Nigey out of the bedroom nonsense. Hmmm … it’s like she forgets cats are. intelligent sentient beings … even though we do like chasing stringey things for hours at a time. Which is why the whole bedtime thing is so unfair because once I’m out of the bedroom she stops playing!

I keep asking the Mummies to take me outside but they are not complying.. No, don’t even start on about that stupid Harness rule or that stupid harness for that matter! It’s not like we dont have high fences around the yard that would stop me getting out – as though I would really want to leave home and the Mummies. I love it here with all my toys, the penthouse (sweet), the window cubby Aunty A brought me, the bathtub, the yum cha service, my pizza box, my caravan, my Aldi box, my Sunbeam fryer box, my plane box, my walking dinosaur, my cat tower, Ollie Tedesco and all the bits and bobs on him, my personal photographer … nope, I wouldn’t want to be leaving any of this any time soon! I’ll keep asking about going out but it may already be too late to catch up with my new friend Tad.

Tad said … and I believe him … I have been and will always be your friend. I think he is a Star Trek fan!

Kaz has been teaching me a new game – she calls it Casino … I personally think she could be doing better things with her time – like literally anything – but she’s as resistant to that as she is to taking me out at the moment!

Kaz’s new time-waster game
Having a nap while Kaz plays.
Awake now … and trying to show an interest. Maybe if I do she will think about taking me outside!
Nah … can’t do it … sleep is way more important! Wake me up when you’re ready to go to bed Kaz … and I’ll find the stringey thing for you!

Home … and loving it!

Me … getting a bit comfortable!

Well … there’s no doubt about it, just as Dorothy said in “The Wizard of Oz” (the film) … there’s no place like home.  I’d like to say that I’ve been missing Boarding School but we all know that that would be a big fat lie.  But … and I am disappointed about this … I haven’t been outside once since I’ve been home … and not through lack of trying!  Yes, yes, I do know your stupid rule Kaz … no harness no outside – although that wasn’t the case a couple of weeks ago was it?  Not before Aunty M had a word with you and said it wasn’t a good idea to let me go unrestained out into the wild (well, the lawn hadn’t been mowed for a little while, had it?) … just in case I was frightened by a noise and scarpered over (or under … yes, I so too could fit) the fence!  And I thought Aunty M liked loved me … hmmmmph … “tough” love … I don’t think I like it!
But Aunty M did come to see me the other night … and to watch television with the Mummies.  They say they’re watching television but they seem to spend a lot of time reading while they’re doing it … because the program is in French (not as interesting a language as “cat” but we know most humans can’t cope with the intricacies and complexities of that) – and since neither Aunty M or Kaz actually speak French they have to read the tiny tiny print on the screen that translates it into English.  Sooz does speak French so she’s okay with it and sometimes laughs before the others because she gets the “joke” first because she doesn’t have to read it!

Hmm .. a bag, I’ll just mind it so they can’t leave me again!

I’ve been enjoying naps on the table with Kaz of an evening, being in the penthouse during the day (and night), and playing with my stringey thing – although I’m not quite sure what has happened to Blue ST, I know it came home from Boading School with us.

Is Blue ST in here? I know I’m not supposed to be in drawers but if I look away while I’m doing it, Kaz won’t know!
Nope … not there … I’ll just keep looking!

It’s me …

Home again … how wonderful is this!

Back where I belong … in my penthouse … sweet!

I was sitting on my top shelf in my room at Boarding School when I heard Kaz talking with Rosemary (who still has the green hair … I don’t think that that’s its real colour).  I danced around yelling:  she’s here, she’s here … but made sure I was sitting calmly by the time Kaz reached my room so she wouldn’t know I was excited to see her.  She came in with my travel cage to get me and when she did Rosemary locked us both in and for a moment I thought we were in real trouble … what if she kept us both in there … there wasn’t enough room for both of us … not for more than a couple of minutes anyway – not unless Kaz wanted to sleep standing up!  But once I was back in my travel cage, Rosemary opened the door and Kaz carried me out to … freedom.  Of course, I talked to her all the way home telling her everything that had happened to me … how they’d tied me to the roof and thrown rocks at me, and how they put someone in the room next to me and THEY HISSED AT ME … lots!  Yes, I know I did that when Dzambala came to stay with me but this was different … this wasn’t friendly at all!  (No … no … don’t worry about checking back on the blog to see what [really] happened with Dzambo … that would be a waste of time.)
Sooz was at home when we arrived and I went in and had a chat with her.  She was happy to see me too and she was very happy when I spent time with her today.  It was pretty hard to make sure I spent equal time with both Sooz and Kaz though … but you know how they get when I’ve been away … very very clingy!  I even had to sit at the window and pretend to be interested … and watching … as Kaz pushed the mower up and down the back yard!  The things I do for those two!  (Yes, Kaz and Sooz, you just think about that the next time you decide to put me into Boarding School while you go off lolly-gagging and having a good time!)
