“Don’t be going through my stuff, Nigey. You can’t even read.”  (Cats aren’t supposed to read but we do know a bit about paper – and there is heaps of it on M Kaz’s desk.)  And then: “Do you want to get locked out?” after I’d tossed the plush elephant on the floor.

I’d spent the morning, since the Mummies had arrived back from M Sooz’s unsuccessful blood test, being with M Kaz. I was sitting by her feet at the table while she was angsting over her Quordle puzzles – which she probably wouldn’t have if she hadn’t returned a SIX for Wordle. Then when she moved into the office (not to get away from me surely) I joined her – jumping up onto the desk and letting her cuddle me. After that I wanted to have a look around the desk and see what was in each of the cubby holes – and you have to pull things out to have a proper look, which is when she started to be mean to me.
The elephant? I was just being … well, let’s just say it deserved it. The elephant stops me going on the yellow typing machine – a favourite place for me to leave fur – yes, yes, inside the workings which is why M Kaz stationed the elephant there.

Kudos M Kaz on one thing though. She was watching something else this afternoon – a new series based on Stephen King’s novel “Carrie”.  On the basis of a10-minute session, though, M Kaz thinks it should be called “Mean Girls” and has decided it’s not for her. No doubt “Midsomer Murders” will be in all our futures.

M Kaz went out last night – by herself! She left with Aunty M who visited yesterday afternoon so she could get some help with a document (scanning or something) – and M Kaz asked her for a lift to the Grand. A pub! A pub on a Wednesday night! What? I can’t tell you how pleased I was when she came home safe and sound. I ran down from the bedroom and was there at the front door to welcome her – no, it wasn’t so I could slip past her and into the great outdoors. M Sooz told M Kaz I was making a strange mewing noise as I ran. She thinks it was emotion; I think it was more likely that it was strenuous exercise.

The sun is back at Jannie and I’m ever hopeful that my friends will be as well. It would be easier to see them if the grass in the yard was shorter. We could definitely see the Cecils!  Hopefully Chris the lawn guy will visit soon.
