Bitey

Bitey … far from home!

Well, that would have been pretty funny … and I’m really sorry I missed seeing it … but there is a story there and an opportunity for a very funny video … of M Kaz and the new drone … and how it was chasing her around the sports field.  And when it wasn’t chasing her, she was chasing it – and telling it to “land, damnit, land” as she forcefully, and with a tiny bit of panic, pushed the button that was supposed to bring it down … but seemed not to be for some reason.  At one point she was sure she had lost it in the trees – she couldn’t see it was actually resting on the ground until she was much closer – that’s how far away it was.  And, no, she said, the headless mode doesn’t seem to work, nor the one touch return.  Hmmm.  But still she insists she is having fun with the drone and she’s put in an order for another couple of batteries so she can spend more time out there with it.  Me? I think she was much better off flying it around in the house … and that she had forgotten how big the sports field was … until she’d had to hurry back and forth over it a couple of times trying to keep Bitey (the drone) under control.  Bitey 1:  M Kaz 0 was how M Kaz should have reported it on her FaceBook page.  And what was I doing while all this was happening outside:  I was keeping the other Mummy company and pulling down some zzzzz’s – and there are photographs – but you’ll have to click into the “gallery” to see all of me.

Happy birthday …

(Sing to the tune of “Happy Birthday”!) Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Mummy Kaz, Happy Birthday to you.

I can’t wait until it’s my birthday and I can get some special treatment around here. The Mummies were up at 5 this morning and out of the house soon after . They smelled like coffee when they came back. And when they got back, M Sooz gave M Kaz a bag and said “Happy Birthday” – and M Kaz got all excited as she took the present out of the bag (it makes a change from a cat!). Who knew she’d get so happy about a drone? Obviously M Sooz and their friend Pene. And M Kaz is excited … I know this because she’s been flying it around the house – not as in “around” the house but “in” the house. Can you imagine that? Thank goodness she finally put the bumpers on the rotors because she kept flying into the walls, and the furniture, and the window … not very sensible M Kaz. I’m wondering how long she will have that drone after she takes it outside to play with it … it might decide to just fly away. Then she could take me outside!

Bye bye drone 🤗 … what? Not yet?

Morning …

Not much sun rising there!

What on earth is happening around here? Have those Mothers gone mad?  They were up and out of the house while it was still dark outside this morning!  And it wasn’t much better yesterday! And it’s not as though they had been up for ages and decided they might as well go out … nope the alarm went off, the light went on and out of bed they hopped, straight into their clothes.  What the?  And then they went outside and didn’t come back for ages.  I know where they went though … I could smell it on them when they got back.  They were at coffee! I know they like their coffee but seriously, have they gone mad? Going out for coffee at 5 o’clock in the morning? It would be different if they were doing something as well, but I’m not sure that looking at the sunrise qualifies as “doing something” – especially as it was overcast yesterday and today.  M Kaz took her camera with her and took a photograph or two but really, I don’t see the attraction.
The only good thing about it is that I get to have the whole bed while they’re gone – and there’s a little bit of heat left in the bed from where M Sooz has had the electric blanket on, so I’m not really complaining … just very curious.

M Kaz has been shopping again … and I approve.  I like Iron Man, especially when he’s doing push-ups, and the new clothes organiser she bought fits me to a tee.

Study buddy …

Thank goodness M Kaz has finished her assignments for this TAFE intake. She has been like a bear with a sore head as she worked to get her assignments finished … and the other Mummy was a “study widow” for hours, nay days, at a time.

I did what I could to help her … I stayed in there to encourage her, to remind her to take regular breaks, helped her eat her snacks, sat on her papers to stop them blowing away – it’s been so hot she’s had the fan blowing like a tornado in there – and just being a good study buddy generally … but it wasn’t enough to help her from getting very very stressed. And it’s not like she left everything to the last minute – no, she was studying consistently right from the start of the intake. She even made sure she wasn’t taking on too much study – she didn’t pre-enroll in the next subjects like she often does.

The problem was the subject with the computer coding … she couldn’t get it to work at first and then when she did, the debugging wouldn’t work. She did a lot of reading and researching on the internet but try as she might, she couldn’t work it out. Thank goodness for tutors. She finally called hers on Friday afternoon and he was able to do up a video to show her how the debugging worked. Once she had that, she was much happier and she was able to zip through the rest of the assignment that afternoon.

Yep, bear with a sore head. It’s good that she sent her assignments in yesterday so life can get back to normal around here … until her next unit starts anyway.
