Lucky me!

How lucky am I? Let me answer that. I am exceptionally lucky: Aunty M came over to visit today … and she brought me a new box! It’s the cutest box I’ve seen for ages – and it’s all mine! Thank you Aunty M! M Kaz took photographs of me in my new box. I like the ones taken from the side much better than any of the others – especially the ones from directly overhead – I know it’s probably an optical illusion but it looks like I’m hanging over the sides of my new box! And it makes my bottom look
big … and I’m sure that wasn’t Aunty M’s intention.

Get away Crocodile … This bottom is not as big and juicy as it looks. Nothing to eat here!

And she brought me some treats too. Don’t tell her but when M Kaz gave me some later, I didn’t care for them. I know I haven’t seen the last of them though but it will be the same the next time someone offers them to me. Have I already said I don’t like them? That bears repeating!
I wasn’t the only one to get pressies either. There were birthday pressies for M Kaz too. We are both very lucky … because I get to play with M Kaz’s toys too!

You first …

Hmmm … what kind of trick was that M Kaz?  You first?

That was how that Mother lured me out of the bedroom this morning when I went to wake her so we could have some Nigey-M Kaz time.  Okay, it was just 3 in the morning … but she had been up.  I saw her playing Wordle on her phone just before that!  But no … it was too early to get up to do things with Nigey … but of course she didn’t tell me that straight away.  She hopped out of bed and then went over to the door with me and said “You first” and indicated that I should go out the doorway before her … which I did – only to have her close the door behind me – with her still in the bedroom!  Not nice … not nice at all. The other Mummy doesn’t do that .. she gets up in the middle of the night to sit with me and talk with me and tell her about all kinds of stuff, and she offers to share her cheese and crackers with me too.  But does the other Mother do any of that? No, she just wants to sleep during the night – except for when she plays Wordle in the wee small hours of the morning or reads the Smart News app or … well, you get the idea … anything but spending quality time with me!

In the bag …

I thought we had done quite well getting almost to the end of this season of Married at First Sight before the Mummies started looking to prime time television … but the good news is that they’re not talking about that dreadful show, M Kaz is starting to get excited about the new season of MasterChef which starts in about a month’s time. And talking about excited, M Kaz received her results for her coding assignment … the word “excellent” was used a number of times in the feedback but I think she was more excited that she didn’t have to redo it. Yep, we can go back to normal around here for a few weeks before she starts her next subject (thankfully the last for her Certificate!).

And speaking of excitement, how excited was I today when M Kaz finally handed over her birthday bag to me.  I had to cajole, and beg, and insist she take things out of it so I could have it, but in the end, as I knew she would, she bowed to my wishes.  She should know by now to just do it, M Kaz, just do it! Nobody needs to hear any arguments from you or M Sooz!

Give me the bag …

I don’t know why they don’t pay me more attention.  I am Nigey.  I am the cat.  It’s not as though I’m not around all the time – why, only yesterday I was helping M Kaz with her birthday presents – checking them out, giving them a good sniff, letting her know they were okay.  No, no, it wasn’t just because I wanted the bags … although I do have to say, they were lovely bags.   No, I’m just always looking out for them. Because that’s what a good cat does!  I am a good cat.

They went out with Aunty M yesterday – to lunch. That’s what they tell me anyway because Aunty M didn’t come in to give me a face rub.  She had been in to see me in the morning when she and M Sooz went to breakfast – but that was ages before.  Hmmm.  Aunty M knows the rules: if she comes to the house or anywhere near the house, she’s supposed to come in to see me!  Hmmmmm.  Someone will need to have stern words with her to make sure it doesn’t not happen again!  (M Kaz … can you check that for me before you post my blog … you know I’m rubbish at double negatives?!? Ta.)
