They’re home …

They’re home … they’re home! It’s day No. 2 and early this afternoon they arrived home again, carrying all manner of bags – one of them had shopping in it (from Aldi) and there was even some cat food for me in there. There should have been cat cookies because I can almost see the bottom of the cookie cannister. I’m not sure what the Mummies are going to do when those cookies are all used up … because I know they’re aren’t any more … well, not the ones I like anyway … I’ve been in the cupboards – all the cupboards – and I know there are only two packets of cookies in there – both previously tried and rejected by Nigey. M Kaz has put out some wet food for me tonight – and I’m eating that, hoping that will fill me up until they get out tomorrow to get me some more Friskies – I have a feeling it’s way too cold for them to go out again tonight – especially since M Kaz has put on her UGG (UGH?) boots already.

They haven’t been doing much since they arrived home. M Sooz has been in the bedroom – reading, having snacks, taking naps, watching snake-catcher videos (I may have made that last bit up – but it’s entirely possible – she’s done it lots before) – having a wonderful time. I’ve had M Kazbah hard at work doing my social media (did I mention she’s set up a Facebook page for me) and as Aunty M rightly pointed out today, I have been a bit behind in my blogs – but we’re just about up to date now (thanks M Kaz).

It is so cold here at the moment … you would think it was Winter … and it has been for the last 24 days. It’s okay when you’re out in the sun and I was when M Kaz took me out there earlier this week in one of the brief periods when they were actually home – or when I’m in my window seat soaking up the sun. How lucky am I that I can still get some sun while the Mummies are out.

Home alone … again

I can’t work out what’s worse – being under house arrest and being home alone (again!) or being sent to stay with Aunty Rosemary. I know there’s a story here because M Sooz and M Kaz keep disappearing every second night – and they don’t come back until some time the next day to stay but they do come in early in the morning to feed me, refresh my water and clean out my litter tray. Hmmmm. I know they’re not going to see the family in Toowoomba because they’d be gone longer … I will have to sniff around and see what I can find out. Maybe I’ll listen in to their conversations and accidentally overhear something about it.

Looking for clues as to where those Mothers are sneaking off to!

I’ve been doing my best to keep things happening around here in their absence – which is okay except I’m still trying to get all of my daily kips in. As I’ve said many times before: a Nigey needs her beauty sleep.

Just about ready for another nap!

Oh … oh … there’s exciting news! M Kaz has been busy doing her assignment for TAFE and because she needed a couple of FB pages to link through to she has created two pages … one of which she will keep once she gets her assignment back … because that FB page is all mine! She’s already helped me put some posts up!

Busted!

I am currently on house arrest. The charge: trying to escape over the fence while M Kaz and I were outside yesterday. I almost made it too. If only she’d still been fiddling with her phone when I made the break for it, it would have been a very different story. She wouldn’t have been able to hit the “lock” button on the retractable lead to stop me dead in my tracks – hanging by my toes off the top of the fence. I’ll give M Kaz this though, she has decent reflexes. It was about a second from when I was sunning myself on the lawn (a clever ruse) to launching myself at full speed to the top of the fence. As I was hanging there, I thought M Kaz would come over and lift me down … she did not so I dropped the 5 or 6 feet to the ground and protested loudly as she scooped me up to take me inside… and so the house arrest began!

It’s a good thing I have so many stringey things to keep me company! Especially since I was evicted from the bedroom again this morning. What are they thinking? I was only chewing on M Kaz’s hair a little bit through the night -and that wasn’t even when she escorted me out – it was after I’d slept on her legs for a while, and after I’d slept in the middle of the bed between them

Sunday

I know you’re still obsessed with Wordle M Kaz but NORTY is not how you spell naughty!  And just for the record, I was not being naughty (regardless of how YOU spell it) this morning when you evicted me from the bedroom.  It was 6am, I had had a full night’s sleep and I just wanted to play – and you know it’s no fun playing with the stringey thing by yourself.  Oh oh … the good news is that I have found my favourite stringey thing again (although the white ribbon from M Sooz’s birthday present from Aunty M is coming a pretty close second!) – I don’t know why M Sooz had hidden it beside the meditation pillow under some of her clothes.

It’s still no warmer here and the Mummies have put an extra blanket on the bed and they have started using the electric blanket, which is good.  It gets a little bit hot for me sometimes but all I have to do is lay on top of M Kaz and that’s a little bit cooler – or was I doing that to warm up before they put the blankets on?  Either way, it works.

I told you it was cold!

We’re still going outside almost every day, taking advantage of it not being rainy or wet – and spending some time in the sun which is lovely.

The only thing that I have noticed is that Lennie hasn’t been around.  Aunty M said it was because lizards (and yes, Lennie is a lizard) hibernate during the winter. But I’m not sure that all things like that do because M Kaz was saying only the other day that a memory came up on her FaceBook page – showing that only two years ago there was a cecil making its way through the lattice where the jasmine is … thankfully the jasmine is so thick out there now, they wouldn’t see one if it was there.  I wonder if that’s where Lennie’s hiding.

I think the Mummies are finally starting to realise that now that it is colder, I am getting hungrier quicker.  Haven’t they noticed my empty cookie bowl?  It’s no wonder that I’m having to give M Kaz kisses and cuddles so she realises that I need attention … food … food … give me food!  But not that silly brand of wet food that you’ve been giving me.  How many times do I have to not eat it before you get the message?  You know what I like Mummies – Applaws Seafood varieties, maybe the Aldi Luxury brand if I’m in the mood … but do not waste my time with anything else.  You should know by now that it’s just going to stay in the bowl until you clean it out M Kaz!
