Friday

Well, here it is Friday again and M Kaz has me out in the yard for a little bit of a wander and some exercise.

I’m not sure what’s happening throughout the yard, there are little piles of black soil all over the place – they look as they might be home to some sort of critter.  I’m not sure that I want to meet up with them.

I’ve just been checking the grate in the lawn – we’ve heard what we think is a frog there the last couple of days.  I don’t think it’s Kermie … if it were, you’d think he would have come out to say hello.

I can’t believe how much there is to sniff out here at the moment.  It has been raining – not that much but a little bit but for some reason everything smells … different, and I need to take in all of the smells just so I know what’s happening in the yard.

Things have been fairly quiet around here lately. M Sooz is reading about the Camino which is a big walk she wants to do some time in the next 10 years – that will be fun for her. She will get a passport where she gets stamps in it to show that she’s done it and at the end of the Camino, she shows her passport to be able to get a Certificate! M Kaz has been a bit busy too – cleaning out the office (a general declutter I think she called it) and she’s also busy cleaning out my bedroom because she says that Uncle W is coming to stay with us and when he shares it with me, he won’t want to sleep in the next I’ve made with the electric blanket. He’ll want to sleep on all of the bed.

Aunty M came to visit me twice yesterday!  How lucky was I … especially since she didn’t scoop me up and put me in my carry cage like she did last week!

Home again …

Phew … home at last. They had me stay at Aunty Rosemary’s four nights this time – Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday … and they didn’t pick me up first thing this morning, like they usually do. I had to wait until later this afternoon … and it was wonderful when I heard M Kaz’s voice as she chatted with Aunty Rosemary … about me! I called out to M Kaz to let her know where I was so she didn’t waste time trying to find me.

The Mummies have just come home from Trivia and after they took the rubbish and the recycling out, they have settled down – M Sooz is watching her programs (I think there are snake ones and hair cut ones that she’s concentrating on at the moment) and M Kaz is out watching a new television series (“High Water”) and typing up my blog notes. Now that they’re home, I’ve put myself in with M Sooz to have my first decent sleep since they left, and I will proofread the blog when M Kaz is done with the typing.

And speaking of typing, while I was in the car today on the way home from Aunty Rosemary’s I could hear a bit of a strange noise, a dinging when we went over bumps, and now I know that it is a new typewriter … well, when I say a new typewriter, I mean an old typewriter. I don’t think I’m going to get to see it until the Mummies can get it inside … apparently it is quite heavy and from what they were saying, they might be waiting until Uncle W comes to visit to get him to help them.

Sunday

Well that was pretty funny but I don’t think M Sooz would agree. When they woke up the first time this morning M Sooz was going to go back to sleep for a while (they weren’t going to the Markets for ages!) and M Kaz was going to make a coffee – the noisy type – and since she is so considerate she was closing the bedroom door so she wouldn’t annoy M Sooz. That was the plan anyway until M Kaz pulled the knob off the door as she was closing it (even though M Sooz had said she didn’t need to – close the door that is, she would never have thought to say anything about not pulling the door knob off!). Okay, said M Sooz once M Kaz had the knob back on, but don’t close it. But of course she did and that’s when M Kaz realised she couldn’t open the door … and M Sooz couldn’t open it from her side either. I’m not saying that tempers were starting to flare at this point but M Sooz did say she was becoming a bit anxious. About that time M Kaz realised the spindle must have flown out when the knob came off and she soon found it poking out under the door. Phew. It wasn’t long before the door was fixed and normal activities resumed.

You never know what fun things are going to happen around here!

Thursday (that came around fast)

That M Kaz is so slack with taking my blog dictation … you would think that she thinks that I have nothing better to do than wait around for her to be ready … to do the blog, to go outside, to play. Of course, I am happy to wait for her some times, because I know the Mummies are busy doing whatever it is that Mummies do … reading, writing, Samagraming, drone flying, going to the Post Office to pick up the new lens which has finally arrived 34 days after M Kaz ordered it from her river friend (Amazon), starting to tidy up M Sooz’s studio for when Uncle W visits in a couple of weeks … and there’s heaps of other stuff they’ve been doing too. I should be happy that they have time for me at all. I bet Mimi doesn’t have this problem with Aunty M and Mouse.

I am still spending time in my cat tree basket – I’m even sleeping there some nights after I’m evicted from the Mummies’ bedroom. Why don’t they want to play in the middle of the night? I know M Sooz likes reading then but usually about that time M Kaz is snoring like a bear in the forest … I try to wake her up so she can come play, but that usually just leads to me being shown the door – and locked on the other side of it.
