What the?  Why are those Mummies watching this … Musical show – yes, that would be the Eurovision song contest.  I tried watching it last night, but it was too much for me and in the end I sat in my table box and turned my back on it.

I had to laugh though when M Sooz said “I can’t understand a word he’s singing” and M Kaz said “because it’s not in English! ”  That just about summed the whole thing up for me.  And why are so many of the singers lying down on the stage – and why are they wearing shorts!  And why is there so much pink?  Hmmmm.  I would have thought those Mummies would have had enough last night – but no, as soon as MasterChef was over tonight – they had Eurovision back on.  M Sooz was really in to it – and when M Kaz told her this morning she knew who had won, M Sooz told her not to say because she was planning on watching the live (delayed) telecast tonight.  She is – so I have taken myself into the bedroom and am catching a kip on M Sooz’s bed.

I spent most of this afternoon Outback, listening to the rain, and sleeping in my basket.  M Kaz was out otherwise I would have been keeping her company – we all know how much she likes me being with her, tapping her gently on the leg when I want her attention.  And speaking about wanting attention – when I was trying to wake her up this morning so she could come and watch me eat my cat cookies, she evicted me from the bedroom and she wouldn’t let me back in.  I had to sleep on the end of the spare bed in M Sooz’s studio.  It’s not as comfortable as the Mummies’ bed, but it’s better than just about everywhere else … except the Recliner – how on Earth could I have forgotten about the Recliner?  It’s their fault because they had me at Aunty Rosemary’s for too long.

Wednesday (26 April 2023)

Well, I thought I had them sussed this morning.  I jumped on to the end of M Kaz’s bed and was being as wonderful and as non-bitey as I could be … how could they possibly send me to Aunty Rosemary’s when I’m so cute!  While M Kaz was taking things out of the house – and not bringing them back – and they weren’t bags of rubbish – I decided it was time to make myself scarce.  And it worked – they couldn’t find me – I wasn’t silly enough to be under the bed – especially since they now have the “beds go up, beds go down” and can easily find me and get to me under there.  M Kaz had closed the door to M Sooz’s study – so I couldn’t go under that bed either.   I was a bit surprised when they didn’t even really look for me – they just did that thing I cannot refuse – M Kaz opened the door to Outback – and the next time she came looking for me – there I was.  It didn’t take me long to work out that wasn’t going to work so, while she wasn’t looking, I did duck under the bed and stayed there – until I heard Aunty M.  She had come to rescue me … I wouldn ‘t need to go to Aunty Rosemary’s afterall … she was going to take me to her place to stay with Mimi!  Errrr … no.  She had come to visit those Mothers before they set off on the Great Southern Road Trip – and they were still dropping me at Aunty Rosemary’s on the way.  Grrrrr.  So I let M Kaz pick me up and after my 27-legs trick, she had me in my carry cage – along with my red stringey-thing and the Kiwi – and after saying goodbye to Aunty M, and speaking with Ca from next door who will be watering my cat grass while we are away, we were off.  This, of course, means that I will be on radio silence until they return to collect me and M Kaz starts typing my blogs again.  Hmmmm. I wonder if Aunty Rosemary can type.

In the meantime … here are some piccies … of me!

Well, that took no time at all! M Kaz ordered her new stylus on Wednesday afternoon and it was due to come in to MyScreen tomorrow or Monday. As luck would have it the Mummies were in Australia Fair this afternoon to see a movie, and Brad at MyScreen was taking receipt of a box from a courier as they approached the kiosk. Cheekily, M Kaz walked up and said to Brad “Is my stylus in that box? “… and it was. She was suitably impressed – and incredibly happy because it means she won’t have to go back tomorrow or Monday to collect it – and she will have the stylus for the (grumble) road trip.
I am practising hiding for when the time comes for M Kaz to pop me into the carry cage to take me to Aunty Rosemary’s. This morning M Kaz could not find me at all and in the end she opened the door to Outback and went about her chores – and while she was busy I took myself out back and that’s where she finally found me. I had her going – she was opening cupboards in the kitchen and throughout the house checking to see if I had been locked in anywhere. Thank goodness she didn’t find my spot. It should be good for a couple more turns.

I can see I’m going to have to lift my C.Q. if the Mummies keep hanging out with Bluey’s humans! I chanced upon some photographs M Kaz took of Bluey at breakfast this morning (only dogs and people get to go to breakfasts – not Tilleys, not Mimis and definitely not Nigeys). C. Q. is Cuteness Quotient and we all know I have loads of it but it wouldn’t hurt to get some more. Just look at that Bluey!
