Don’t …

Kaz and Sooz have not yet worked out that the word “don’t” is not in my vocabulary … as in …  “don’t do that” … “don’t go in there” …  “don’t go under the bed”.  All I hear is “do that” … “go in there” and most definitely “go under the bed” which is where I am now that it’s their bedtime and Kaz is wanting to have an early night.
Sooz is already asleep … but I think she will wake up through the night as she often does.  I hear her in there and I drag my stringey-thing up the hall so she will hear it and know I am awake too – and ready to play.  She doesn’t open the door though – Kaz is the only one that does that in the middle of the night – sometimes.  Then she often stays up for a while, has a cup of tea, maybe a few jelly beans and a biscuit and then, half an hour or so later,  off she will trot again.  Sometimes she even plays stringy-thing or dinosaur or packing tape with me.
They do try to keep me entertained, I’ll give them that although it would be easier if Kaz just accepted that sometimes all I need to be happy is to cuddle and kiss her! Yes, yes, we all know that means something else – heh heh – better go get my teeth and claws ready and see if I can find her.

So … they do let me on the bed!
Helping out with the cooking … and maybe some eating!
Back on the bed again … and in the electric blanket box!

Home alone … again!

What do they think I am … chopped liver? They went away on the weekend … AGAIN … living me alone with just my toys, food, cookies, water, Tibet, fresh litter … and the faint hope that Aunty M might pop in to see me and give me a face rub! And what am I to do in the other hours and hours they are gone? I’m thinking I might have to take some tips from the other cats they know! Who? Well, that Mimi (grrrrr) for a start. Word on the street is that Aunty M had to buy a new television because Mimi knocked the one in the dining room at her place off the cupboard it was sitting on. Aunty M didn’t make that mistake again … the new one is suspended in the sky where Mimi can’t reach it (ha ha!). And then there’s Tilly – who owns Syl and An. She was so concerned they were going away that on the day before they were due to leave, she knocked a glass head off a cupboard … we’re not talking a small head here either – it was big (Syl used to put her barrister wig on it) and heavy … and it shattered into a gazillion pieces when it hit the floor. All this was because they were leaving … AND they were taking her with them … so imagine what it would have been like if they were leaving her at home alone … like Sooz and Kaz leave me!

This is what Tilly did … wow!

Yes, I’ll have to put some thought into this – and start noting what they like around the house. Hmmm, I could have some real fun here!

Me … trying to hitch a ride in Sooz’s overnight bag.
I try to be helpful … dishwasher inspector here!
A rare picture of me on my Tower – and sulking because Kaz wouldn’t let me eat her leg!
A few of my toys, and a flannie … but no Tibet in sight.
Did someone say nap?

Not Brian, Trex and me …

Those two never cease to amaze me. Kaz did something really strange last Saturday morning. She went into her office and came out wrih something that looked like a surfboard with legs. Then she pulled out another thing – she called it a name – no, she didn’t, she said something like it wasn’t Brian … the iron. Ahh … so this is ironing – making wrinkled things smoothe. Hmm. Why doesn’t Sooz do something like that? Because Kaz did it for her. (Did you think I was talking about something other than their shirts? How rude would that be … and yes, we all do know that Kaz and Sooz do say that I am rude – not sure why but they do).

Me and the jumping board.

They have been out a bit lately but I don’t mind that so much since I have Tibet. I love Tibet. And my couch. And the washing machine. I love everything.  Especially cuddling on the table with Kaz … no, no, she’s not on the table … I am!  I’m doing that right now as I dictate this to her. It’s good too because it means I can whisper it to her so Sooz doesn’t overhear and spoil any surprises when she reads the blog.

Me … having a rest.
You never know where I will turn up!

It’s getting colder now and I spend most mornings in Tibet, especially if Sooz still has her electric blanket on.
When they went to Ikea with Aunty M the other day, they bought me another dinosaur – a big green Trex.  Whenever she thinks I’m asleep on the couch now, Kaz gets him and puts him (and sometimes Matilda too) next to me.  It seems to make her happy!  Humans, hey?

Me and Trex.

Noisy as …

I don’t think it could have been any noisier today. When I heard Sooz was in possible danger, I raced up to the bedroom to check and yes there was a man outside the window (read: glass doors). I wasn’t sure what he was doing but I was determined to keep her safe if he stepped off the grass and onto the deck.  Kaz didn’t seem that concerned – she just kept talking to Son but I did notice she closed the window so it wouldn’t be quite as noisy.  Ahhh … finally I realised what was happening … it was Mark out there and he was here to do the lawns.  Would it be too difficult to just tell me so I wasn’t worried?

Me … keeping an eye on things.

Son smelled … a lot.  That’s not a bad thing … there was a whiff of water dragon, dog, possum, koala and possibly bat. She and Mark are part-time wildlife folk and this morning they’d been out at some place called Jimboomba helping another wildlife person with the 16 rescue koalas she currently has in her care. They could have brought me one to play with!  But Son did let me play in her bag which was nice of her. After they left us, they were going to Wet And Wild where they were going to release a Waterdragon that had almost drowned on a slide there and probably would have had the person who found it not given it mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and CPR.

Me and Stringey-thing.

Otherwise it has been business as usual here – stringey-thing … electric blanket … Tibet … more photos.

Watching a bit of tv.
Mmm mmm … box.
Found another cupboard to be in …
