Spring has sprung …

Good morning and welcome to Spring.  Yay!  I love Spring.  Even more than the Mummies (do).  Especially when Kaz lets me go outside and I can play with my friends out there.  I don’t know why they all love playing hide and seek so much … because every time I’m out there, it takes me ages to find them. Sometimes though they just like playing tag and they run away as fast as they can and I have to chase them. It’s fun!  And yes, when I find them … or catch them (or both) … of course I have to give them a little kiss and cuddle.  Otherwise they wouldn’t know how much I care – and it’s important that they know.  It’s just like with Kaz … if I didn’t kiss and cuddle her leg, how would she know she’s one of my favourite Mummies?

I hope someone remembers to put these all back on the floor!
Ahhh … they did … good Mummies!

Aunty A came yesterday and the Mummies piled all my toy boxes up on the couch – So Aunty A could clean uninterrupted – whatever that means. I did ask her to let me out in the yard a couple of times but she ignored me – just like Kaz did the other day when she was actually sitting out there in the front yard for a very long time. I kept watch for Cecils for her, even though she didn’t seem to hear me when I told her what I was doing, and that it would be much easier if I was out there with her.  I don’t think Kaz likes snakes as much as the other Mummy does.  She spends hours watching “snake catcher” videos – so the next time there is a snake in the yard she’s going to be ready to deal with it.  You’d think she’d be able to catch it and put it in a big plastic tub – because she knows where they can be released – at Advancetown near where the Mummies used to live with Aunty M … isn’t it good they don’t live there now because there was a H-U-G-E python sighted there not long back.  It was nearly as big as a house … or was that “horse”?!

Snake … snake … give us a snake … or other friend to play with …

Friend or foe?

Is it a big ask? I’m not sure yet but I am giving it a lot of thought since Aunty M mentioned it to Kaz. The conundrum? Apparently Mimi doesn’t like being described here in the blog as my “Archnemesis”.  Could I possibly move Mimi from the top position on the “Not Really Friends” list – the position of ArchNemesis?  And could I put her on the “We Really Are Friends” list?  Apparently Mimi doesn’t like being described here in the blog as my “Archnemesis”.  I think it’s apt but we all know I don’t have access to a good dictionary … what’s that Kaz … you can help with that.  And is there a reason that you haven’t done that before now?  Especially now that you tell me what Archnemesis actually means.  Hmmmm.  Okay, I guess Mimi isn’t my Archnemesis after all … to paraphase a movie I heard about … she’s (probably) just a naughty little girl. But she’s okay in my book. I wonder when Aunty M is going to bring her over for a play date.

It’s a shame though … I was hoping I would be pondering this for a bit and I was planning to have a bit of a nibble while I did … of course, the nibble would have been on Kaz’s leg because if she had kept this to herself, it wouldn’t have become my problem. Doesn’t she know I have enough to think about – like how to get out into the yard a bit more?

Lovely view of the front area where Kaz and I go sometimes but not when she went out there by herself.

We did go out the other day for a while; and we went out again today.  It was a bit traumatic though, yesterday and today, when Kaz went out there without me.  It was like she was having a picnic – she was out there with a table and chair … and her computer and she stayed out there for yonks.   I tried to attract her attention while she was out there but she ignored me and wouldn’t let me come out to keep her company.

So I had to keep myself busy doing what I do … checking out a box, looking into the washing machine,  a bit of this and a bit of that.

Locked in … (again)

What do you mean I’m not allowed outside? I don’t care if Kaz’s new best friend Norm has been here and spraying something on the grass to get rid of the broad leaves and bindis. I’ve got to get out there – I have four-leafs to find – although that will be harder now that Norm has snipped the heads off most of my clovers. Bad Norm!

Me watching Norm do his thing!

So, I have to stay inside until they say it’s safe. Kaz even locked me out of her study yesterday – she said she was busy doing stuff and didn’t have time for me to push her computer off Ollie Tedesco.

Me … before Kaz made me leave the study area.

Did I mention I’ve been on Social Media again? They thought it was funny – but it wasn’t. It’s never funny when someone’s feelings get hurt – especially when they’re mine.

The offending FaceBook post … although on the basis of this photo it could be called BottomBook!

And it’s not like they didn’t have other photographs of me on the cat tower – taken at the exact same time. They could have used any one of those instead! But did they? No … they said … let’s make fun of Nigey!

On the look-out

Looking … looking … looking

One … two … three … nope. One … two … three … nope. One … two … three … nope. Okay where are they all? Don’t tell me Aunty M found all the four-leaf ones. It’s okay if she did – I know she has found at least a couple out there … but if she found all of them, I’m going to have to get her to tell me so I can stop looking. Seriously, I have been all over the yard looking … and counting (one… two… three; one… two… three) without any luck. Yes, yes, that’s right, I’ve been out in the yard again. Kaz took me out there this morning and it was wonderful in the sunshine, watching that big crow fly over us back and forth a few times (it was really really big), and, of course, counting clover leafs … or should it be “leaves”. I surprised her this time though because when I was ready to go back in, I went and waited at the front door for her to open it for me.
Otherwise it’s been business as usual around here … except we did have visitors yesterday. It was Kaz’s sister and her partner ; you remember Kaz’s sister, I lived with her before I came here to live with Kaz and Sooz. They came down …  to go to the Drive-In Movies and then to go to something called a Swap Meat the next morning – which sounds like it could be good fun … and a bit tasty.
