Thank you Aunty M

Can you believe they went away and left me home alone for the weekend. Yes, yes, part of me was happy to see them packing on Friday morning because I know what that means – once I haven’t had them trying to load me into the cat box and take me to Aunty Rosemary. It means that Aunty M is going to come and see me! And she did! She is so amazing especially as she is the one who told Kaz and Sooz not to send me to Aunty Rosemary’s this time because she said I would be much happier at home – and she was right.

Me … keeping watch while the Mummies were away …

She was over again this morning to pick up Sooz to take her off to breakfast … and as she talked to me through the screen door she told me that she had forgotten to bring me my present. Poor Aunty M. It sounds as though she’s a bit busy at the moment – otherwise there is no way she would have forgotten.

Checking out the new Toaster box …

Sooz and Kaz bought themselves a new toaster yesterday … and they gave me the box. It’s not as big as the box the microwave came in, but it’s still a box … and everyone knows I love boxes. Almost as much as I love helping Kaz and Sooz make the bed – or sleeping on the bed once it’s made.

Looking after the bed for the Mummies …

Reading time …

The Mummies had a very quiet day at home today – they didn’t even go out early this morning like they normally do – they say it’s so they can go for a walk at the Broadwater but I know that’s it’s really so they can have coffee. So, not even that this morning though – Kaz did get up and have a shower, and then went straight into the office with Ollie Tedesco and didn’t come out for hours and hours. She was fairly happy when she came out too – she kept saying she’d submitted her last assignment for this intake. That’s good because maybe we’ll get to see her a bit more around the place (read: out of her office). Let’s hope so too because I miss her – well, having kisses and cuddles with her legs – do you know she locks herself in the office while she’s busy studying which means I can’t get in there … not even to help her. And we all know she needs help sometimes. And no, no-one said: and lots of it!

No, no … she’s not out there.

The other Mummy has been reading books from the library again (or still) – she found lots of them while she was looking for just one by a Japanese author. She’s always singing the praises of that Library. I’m sure they’d have books about cats. I wouldn’t know because the Mummies won’t even let me look. I know other Mummies read to their fur babies – so why don’t mine ever read to me? I bet Aunty M reads to Mimi. I wonder what books she likes: fishy ones like Moby Dick? Or adventure ones? Oh … oh, I know – murder mysteries by Louise Penny. Hmmm. I wonder what my Mummies are doing now.

Run … run as fast as you can …

They did it twice to me today … once each.  Sooz opened the door from the bedroom to the outside area and I had to come galloping in to see if I could get out before she even realised I was in the room. She did.  Then Kaz it too … I was snoozing in with Sooz when she opened the front door.  Gallop … gallop … gallop … “no Nigey, you look after the other Mummy” … is what she meant to say but she actually called me Em.  Lucky I knew they had been talking about her today – Sooz had a message from So saying Tara had just been diagnosed as Diabetic … the Vet thinks it has something to do with all the medications Tara has been taking.  So how did the Mummies manage Emma’s diabetes, she was asking, did they have to do blood glucose readings … that type of thing? Emma (of the sideboard) had to have insulin injections from when she was diagnosed (December 2003) to the day after she had her last ice cream (May 2013).  By all accounts she was quite good at being injected – especially as her vet in Sydney once said “she’d kill you rather than have a tablet”. I have so much to learn!

Bag anyone?
Can’t believe they left the paper towel out for me to play with.
Mmmm … dinosaurs …
Just looking after the electric blanket controls …
Nap time – if Kaz would just take the camera away!

It’s been pretty boring around here … Kaz spends a lot of time with her computer at the moment, still doing that “studying” and Sooz entertains (more like “scares”) herself with even more of those snake catcher videos.  I’ve tried to keep myself entertained but there’s only so much a small cat can do!
