Ahem? A horse?

Horse! Horse! I’m sure that’s what it was. They came back today from “breakfast” and they reeked of horse. Usually when they come back from “breakfast” they carry the faint yet delectable aroma of coffee, bacon and eggs and toast. This is definitely not acceptable. And it wasn’t just horses. They were hanging out with pee-wees as well. For all I know, next time they go out to “breakfast” they’ll be sneaking off to see other cats. And we do know they know lots of them.

Collingwood … the pee-wee.

We are all missing Uncle Wayne but I’m hoping he’ll be back on Tuesday – so he can make scones for Trivia on Wednesday night. He really likes making them – and to hear the Mummies talk about them, he’s really good at it too- especially when he uses his drill to do the cream out in the car park because it’s better when it’s freshly whipped.

The garden is growing so quickly at the moment, probably because it has been raining lots and lots – and not just raining but there have been big scary storms: what do they say “thunder and lightning- very very frightening”? Well, it’s been like that.

And toads have been falling from the sky! There was one upside down next to the path the other day which the Mummies insisted on moving before I could get anywhere near it. And they saw another one playing with a bird across the street. It looked to them like the bird was winning.

Crow 1: Toad no.

The kitchen was a bit bare earlier this week – well they did have some cookies for me but neither of the two types they had was/were the ones I like. (Time for Nigey to take grammar lessons?) But my Fancy Feast did get its place back on the menu yesterday. I don’t know why they think I’ll eat just anything out of a packet – I’ve never given them any indication that I’m anything less than extremely careful about what I choose to eat. But I am cute!

See ya … !

Nooo … he’s gone … he’s gone … Uncle Wayne has returned to Toowoomba leaving me all alone with the Mummies.  But I have my bedroom back so now I can use it during the day and during the night.

Mind you, I have taken up sleeping in the basket of my cat tower again … now that that rabbit has been evicted and there’s room for me in there … some would say not quite enough room but they could be being uncharitable.

It’s going to be odd not having Uncle Wayne around … asking me to move away from the door when they went in or out, waving the red water bottle at me as though he was going to squirt me – but of course he never does although he did make the squishy and sloshy sounds a few times, as thought that would scare me.  Hmmm … Uncle Wayne’s a bit silly sometimes. Now that he’s gone, I’m hoping that the Mummies will stay at home with me a bit more rather than taking Uncle Wayne out to see the sights … they went to see peacocks and geese and they had a breakfast in France (or was that a French breakfast?) and they even went to BrisVegas to see some paintings … and water dragons.  And did they bring me back a water dragon? No they did not.  And it’s not as though there weren’t lots of them … I’ve seen the photos Uncle Wayne took … it would have been nice if he’d left me copies.

Me keeping myself busy since Uncle Wayne’s has gone.

He’s back … he’s back …

He’s here! He’s here! Uncle Wayne is back and he’s living with me in my room. We have a deal … he lets me sleep in our bed during the day – and I let him have the whole room to himself during the night.  That’s okay because we all know I like being in with the Mummies at night, now that they’ve finally stopped locking me out of the bedroom.  (I know I have Uncle Wayne to thank for that too!)

My turn … my turn!

I had a busy night last night … I don’t know what it was outside their bedroom window/door but I knew I had to keep an eye on it to make sure they were safe.  Mummy Sooz was up a lot of the times when I raced in there but she didn’t seem to be all that bothered by it … just as well they have a Nigey to watch over them!  Otherwise, when I wasn’t on guard patrol, I spent most of the night sleeping out on my chair at the table.

Kaz took me out into the yard to spend time with Uncle Wayne this morning.  He’s reading a book out there in the sunshine … like he’s on holiday or something!  At least they’re staying home today – they were out a lot of the time on Saturday and Sunday and word is that they have other activities planned for this week … including Trivia … which means Uncle Wayne will be cooking up a batch of his amazing scones again … I wonder if he’ll use the real oven this time.  Hmmmmm.

Me … trying to be cool and not jump all over Uncle Wayne as he tries to read his book!

Even though the (dreaded) spray bottle is within easy reach, Uncle Wayne hasn’t reached for it once … although he did show me his huge water drinking bottle the other day – as if that was going to frighten me.  He doesn’t know me very well! I could take him on in a heartbeat!

Lucky escape …

I love it when I frighten one or both of the Mummies.  I thought Kaz was going to have a heart attack this afternoon!  She couldn’t find me so she came to look for me in my room and when she couldn’t see me on the bed, she thought she would just lie down on it and check under the bed on the other side – which is where I have been hanging out a bit since they brought me home from Aunty Rosemary’s.  Just as well she let her brainbox activate before she sat on the bed … because she decided she would just check under the covers before she did: and you should have heard her gasp of surprise, horror and relief when she realised I was asleep all the way under the covers – and not just under the covers but between the sheets!  You could hear her heart thumping almost all the way out of her chest at my lucky escape … I could have been a very flat cat indeed had she sat on me! Phew … I think we all breathed a huge sigh of relief on this one.

Fast asleep.

Otherwise I am settling back into being home again.  They did let me sleep on the bed last night … and I did take up as much room as I possibly could.  Poor Sooz … between me stretched out to my maximum length (and width) and Kaz spreadeagled on the bed, at one point she said she was thinking about moving into my bedroom so she’d be able to be stretching out too!
My stringey thing is enjoying being home too, and my little Blue friend, and Pinky.
And yes … Sooz … I do too drink out of my bowl … all the time;  but especially when Kaz freshens it up for me.  You know the other thing I love about being home … the yum cha service with my cookies.  As soon as Kaz even thinks I look hungry she’s up getting fresh cookies and putting them in my bowl.  All I can say is that guilt must be a powerful motivator!
