Friday (20 Sep 24)

When will they learn? Will they ever learn? I hope so, but just in case those Mummies don’t have it yet, I like to drink out of a cup or glass – not a dish. I appreciate this could cause issues in terms of me not being able to drink the whole glass – it’s nothing to do with the glass – it’s just that even though I have a very small head (compared to other parts of me according to those Mothers) I can only get it a little way in to the glass. Then I can’t drink from that one any more until the Mummies top it up again. Based on that, you would think those Mothers would have another one out for me – but they don’t. Not yet anyway.

I’m not sure what M Kaz is playing at but I was looking through her phone the other day and found a couple of photos that I am not at all happy with.  She has since told me that they are not real – they were generated by AI.  I admit I was a bit suspicious when I saw that cat’s eyes.

Don’t let M Kaz hear this but that AI must be really intelligent if it managed to work out anything from her scribble!

Aunty M came around this evening and she and M Kaz were going to set up Aunty M’s old phone for her mother. There must be something about phones and mothers at the minute because M Kaz had a call from Uncle Wayne when Aunty M was here about setting up their mother’s new phone. It didn’t sound as though it was going well. That will be something for M Kaz to look at tomorrow.
Aunty M didn’t stay as long as they’d planned tonight because Syl and An’s Blue is unwell and she has gone with Ra, who is minding Blue and Tilly, to take Blue to the emergency vet to see if they can help him. It is worrying and hopefully he will be okay.

Monday (16 Sep 24)

Well, the cat is well and truly out of the bag.  Hmmm … Why do they say that?  Was the cat ever really ‘in’ the bag?  Certainly not this cat but when the time comes I do want to be “in the bag”.  How did all this come about?  I heard those Mummies on the phone today talking with the “bank” and letting them know where and when they were going.  They have to do that so they can make sure they can still use their accounts while they are “over there”.  I think it would be fair to say that they have fairly much been keeping me out of the loop on this one.  Just as well I’m keeping an ear out – which is probably how I find out most things around here.

M Kaz was busy yesterday.  She was going through the cupboard in the kitchen and putting things from there into a green garbage bag.  Without being asked, she told M Sooz that she was removing all the food that was out of date.  I know, I know, some people suggest that Use By and Best Before dates are by way of suggestion only but, as M Kaz noted, since some of the stuff in there had a Use By or Best Before date of some time in 2019, she didn’t think it was such a bad decision.

I had a chance to get in the dryer again tonight, which I took.  I’m glad M Kaz always checks before she turns the dryer on because I think it could be a bit rough and tumble in there – and a tad on the warm side.

Midsomer Murders continues.  The good news is that I heard M Kaz say that they only have about 11 episodes left.  ‘Before we start again’ said M Sooz.  I think M Kaz started quietly sobbing at that point.  And I can’t say I blame her.  I’m a bit sick of her seeing the first shot of an episode and saying things like ‘Walt’, ‘Helicopter’, ‘Robot’ and then waiting for them to appear.  They always do. It will be good when we find something else to watch.

Sunday (15 Sep 24)

Those Mothers are still not letting me outside by myself – well, we know they wouldn’t let me “outside” outside, but they should be able to let me Outback – like they promised. Although, it has started to be a bit cooler and even when I have been able to get Outback, I have been choosing to stay inside.

Last night I was relaxing on M Sooz’s recliner – because nothing could be finer … (You sang the rest of that ,didn’t you ? I know M Kaz did ! ) . I don’t – know where the time goes, and neither does M Kaz except they did go to the Sunday Markets for a few hours today to catch up with everyone. They seem to have had a good time – and the coffee was good. Don’t quote me but I think I could also smell the remnants of a German sausage or two on their breaths . I notice they didn’t bring me home any . They’re mean like that.

Sunday (8 Sep 24)

Those Mummies did go to Toowoomba on the weekend and they seemed to have a good time without me. I’m willing to bet they didn’t even think about me here, home, all alone, by myself, running around, searching for them high and low – until Aunty M came to see me. I did my best to look as though I was hungry – starving – and hadn’t eaten since the Mummies had left.  It worked because Aunty M sent the Mummies a message with a picture of me looking almost positively gaunt. It wasn’t easy.

The Mummies arrived home on Sunday afternoon and almost immediately went into their room and had “nana naps”, and then (finally) routine prevailed and they sat down to watch an episode of “Midsomer Murders”. I wanted to tell them what was going to happen – but M Sooz prefers it to be a surprise. I really don’t see how it can be since they’re up to about the gazillionth time through them.

M Kaz’s sister gave both the Mummies birthday presents while they were in Toowoomba. M Sooz’s was L’Occitane products plus a girl bag for putting her toiletries in for their upcoming trip. M Kaz got Bob – her “one in a minion’ blankie, and I would suggest that she may be planning to take Bob with her wherever she goes from now on – here or abroad.

Also coming back from Toowoomba with them is “the hat” which is currently with bear but which M Kaz may use when they are in colder climes.
