Thursday (6 Mar 25)

I still think M Kaz could have helped Aunty M to load the cat litter into her car this afternoon. It doesn’t matter that Aunty M told her not to because of her (M Kaz’s) back. She’s such a big sook.

M Kaz did spend some time today picking things up in the yard and putting them in the garage. There were numerous trips and some of the bits and bobs were a bit on the heavy-looking side so it was good she used the trolley. So why was she doing this? There is a cyclone (Alfred) on the way! M Kaz is still hoping it will veer off and go back to sea and blow itself out. She aways has been a tiny bit unrealistic about some things.

The rain from Cyclone Alfred hasn’t started yet – not really anyway, }but it has been windy – and it will get even windier (Aunty M).

How long does it take to fill the bathtub with water M Kaz? Don’t you think you should be planning to do it about now? Because don’t think you and M Sooz will be using my litter tray if the water cuts out. Better you fill that bathtub now so you have plenty of toilet-flushing water available.

Sunday (2 Mar 25)

The air-fryer box on the table and I remain firm friends. So much so that I think M Kaz is really going to remove my beloved mangoes box. I can see her point – two Nigey boxes on the table could be a tad too much. Next she’ll be wanting to move on (read: get rid of) the actual boxes the air-fryer and microwave came in.

M Sooz’s hair has been growing back nicely since she had her thalamotomy. I think she’s planning to keep it short now because it’s so much cooler and so much easier to take care of. And yes, I don’t think l’m the only one who thought M Sooz’s hair would never be shorter than M Kaz’s.

The Mummies went over to Aunty M’s to visit Mimi yesterday. She (Mimi) and I seen to have a lot in common: we both like to take big naps and we both get pretty impatient when it’s time for our Mummies to feed us. M Kaz says Mimi is more vociferous then I am but she doesn’t seen to attack her Mummy as much as I do – well, not directly, physically as me but there may have been a little jumping up and nudging involved.

The Mummies continue to diligently watch “Call The Midwife”and are getting through the episodes quite quickly now. M Kaz keeps collecting recommendations for more series they could be watching. The good news is their “The Madame Blanc Mysteries” is coming back in March – M Kaz just has to work out which streaming service has it.

Wednesday (26 Feb 25)

The Mummies keep bringing boxes home for me.  The air fryer box and its inserts are just wonderful – and I was truly happy enough, feeling very loved – and then an even bigger box came home with the Mummies.  This one had the new microwave oven in it.  Who knew they would be getting a new microwave?  Not them – until yesterday morning at least.  The sad thing is that it went on the fritz the night before, and M Kaz had thought she fixed it by doing a hard reset (thank you for the instructions interweb).  She was wrong – as she found out when she went to re-heat the coffee she had brought back from the Broadwater.  Yes, the lights went on, it hummed, and the timer counted down – but that’s about all that happened,

Did I tell you that those Mummies went away for the weekend?  It was okay because Aunty M came to see me, and talk to me, and pat me, and feed me and empty my tray.  I like it when Aunty M comes to visit – and she’s been again since then.  She popped in on Monday afternoon.  Mind you, those Mummies had already had breakfast with her (and Roz) but it was a welcome respite when Aunty M arrived because M Kaz had spent the day working in her office – and she didn’t seem happy about it.

I like to go in to the office (when she hasn’t barricaded the door shut) and keep her company – just so she remembers that it’s not all about naughty people (or are they?) being on trial – and the lengths that their legal representatives go to so they can not be guilty – or at least be not found guilty by a group of their peers.

I don’t know where the new Osmocote box has come from.  It’s smaller than all of the others but I like it.  Shall we call it figure-hugging?
Not sure I’m going to fit into the latest box M Kaz has brought home. It’s for a RECHARGEABLE GALAXY MOON NIGHT LIGHT which can cycle through 15 colours, or you can just leave it as one colour, brighter, dimmer, flashing – yes, yes, M Kaz has been playing with it this afternoon.

Friday (14 Feb 25)

Happy Valentines Day to me.  Happy Valentines Day to me.  Happy Valentines Day dear Nigey, Happy Valentines Day to me.  So, the big question is, does Valetines have an apostrophe?  The next question is – are those Mummies going to do anything special for me for Valentines Day?  They didn’t last year (not that I can remember anyway) but maybe this year they will do something nice like … well, they do nice things for me a bit so it may be hard to think of just one thing.
I am enjoying the new box that came with their air fryer.  I admit it – I have foresaken all others for it – including my ‘it used to be my favourite’ mango box.  It doesn’t even come close these days.

The weather here has been a bit changeable – rainy in the morning and then sunshine in the afternoons, and then rain again in the evenings.  I don’t mind – it’s good to have the variety, and I’m hoping some of my little friends will come into the Outback to play with me.  Like the dinosaurs.  And the tiny frog things (I think they’re actually little toads).

HAL has been a bit quiet.  M Kaz has been meaning to re-program him so he does the rooms only once but to do that she has to find the instruction manual and I think that’s one of those things she has put ‘in a safe place’ and therefore may be lost forever.  At least she can look it up on the interweb.  She just needs to make time to do that.  And to do the photobook of their trip to Europe last year.  I really don’t know what she does with her time – although she did spend part of Tuesday with Sydney the dog the other day. She ran a taxi service from where their mate Roz was housesitting him down to another friend of hers who runs a motel down at Burleigh Heads.  It was good of her to do that – on a couple of levels.  We know she isn’t really a dog person AND she and M Sooz could have brought Sydney here to stay.  I’m glad they didn’t although, to be fair, the only other dog I know is Bronte, and we did get on (even though he is a Great Dane and the size of a small pony).
