No, I am not running around like a ‘nut job’, Mummies. You have me mistaken for someone else. Someone who you didn’t leave home alone last night while you went to Toowoomba. What was that all about anyway? And this on the day after M Kaz dragged me along to the Vet for a check-up because of that patch of missing fur on my chest. The good news is that the missing fur is not serious – although they did pop a topical ointment on it. Did they mention the word ‘steroid’ and should we all be concerned about ‘roid rages’?

I couldn’t believe they left me alone overnight and didn’t even think to organise for Aunty M to come and see me. Yes, yes, I know Aunty M is … well, I’m not sure what she is except pretty busy because those Mummies don’t always tell me what’s going happening but I do know Aunty M isn’t away at the moment because the Mummies are having breakfast with her tomorrow.
Actually … that’s yesterday now. I cannot believe how fast the days are zooming past. It’s Valentine’s Day in a couple of days and I still haven’t gotten anything (or anyone – he he) for M Kaz to share with M Sooz.
And now here it is Valentine’s Day (!?!) in what seemed to be just a blink of an eye. The good news is that I did have a thought of what to give the Mummies – and as it turns out, it’s the only red thing I own – my lovely red rubber band. I left it in M Kaz’s shoe last night. I hope they like it. They have seen it before, of course, and they have picked it up off the floor enough – and, no doubt, will do so again – along with all my other rubber bands.

It’s been pretty wet here at Jannie the last couple of days. it was so wet yesterday morning, M Kaz didn’t even pretend that she was going to go down to the Broadwater for coffee and to take photographs. She did go this morning though – and came back with photographs of some very wet seagulls and even wetter pelicans. Where do birds go in the rain if they’re not hanging out at the Broadwater with the early morning coffee drinkers – and there was no shortage of those coffee drinkers this morning – and it was just the regulars this morning (because of the rain. M Kaz doesn’t mind that.

I strongly suspect the Mummies did something different for their Saturday breakfast today. They left much later than they usually do on – and when they arrived back at Jannie, I was sure I caught the whiff of pork buns, soy noodles and dumpling.
It’s still raining this afternoon, although not as heavily as it has been. The birds have been back out on the telegraph (or are they power?) lines, and I’ve been back in my mango box for most of the afternoon. Have to love Saturdays.
