Friday (6 Sep 24)

It is bit cooler now – it had been quite warm over the last week – so I have moved back in with the Mummies at nighttime. I don’t know why it is that they take up so much room in the bed but it is a little annoying that they do. I do my best to carve out enough real estate for me but it isn’t always easy with their legs all over the place, and it doesn’t help that M Kaz does ‘bed goes up’ and then sleeps with it that way. It’s even worse when she puts the massage-thingey on. Is it any wonder that I sometimes go and sleep in on Uncle Wayne’s bed?

Despite their assurances that I would be allowed to stay Outback while they were out, that has yet to happen. I’m not sure what they’re so worried about. It’s not that I can get out – although M Kaz was saying to me the other day that she wasn’t sure that I would know to go inside and hide under their beds if anything happened. I take it that didn’t mean Chris coming with all his noisy equipment. That was yesterday. He had a chainsaw (yes a chainsaw – strange because we don’t have any trees!), and a lawnmower, and a blowey-thing, and a whipper-snipper and probably other stuff as well – which didn’t make much of a noise. It looks as though someone cares what Jannie looks like now. It certainly didn’t before.

The Mummies are off to Toowoomba tomorrow to see M Kaz’s sister about some sewing, and to catch up with the family.  It’s been a couple of months since they’ve been up there.  Before they go, I spent some time running around Jannie this evening to show them how much I am going to miss them, before finally coming to rest in the dryer.
