Sunday (11Feb2024)

M Kaz loves a project and she has been working away steadily for the past few days getting ready for Aunty M’s very early (by at least two weeks!) birthday breakfast that was this morning at The Marriott. I wasn’t allowed to go – and neither was Mimi. I’m not sure whether they thought ŵe would have caused a ruckus or what, but we had to be content to stay in our respective homes and hear about it when those Mothers arrived home – via Mt Tamborine! Yes it does seem like a roundabout way to get home from Surfers Paradise but it was a lovely day for a drive and for a baguette and cup of coffee at a different French cafe. We know how they all like a good French cafe.

Aunty M’s present came with (lady)bugs

Can you believe M Kaz still hasn’t finished putting those shelves together? There are still three sets to go and while she may say it’s because it’s easier to store them when they’re still flat packs, I think the real reason is she’s been busy doing other things – like spending hours on the phone to Samsung to find out what was happening with the delivery (or not) of her pre-ordered S24U – no … no-one needs to know the details. My eyes are glazing over just thinking about it.

Me not thinking about the S24U

The Mummies have also had a couple of medical appointments for M Sooz in the past week. She still has that “gallbladder-type” pain and while it has been less intense from time to time, it persists. The results of the MRCP scan aren’t back yet but hopefully Dr M will be able to tell her what they are when she sees her on Tuesday morning.

Time for a little cat nap while it’s raining outside.

What else has been happening? Rain, sleeping (on Uncle Wayne’s towel), kissing and cuddling M Kaz’s legs, running around like a maddie in the wee small hours of the morning – and in the evening when they’re persisting with watching Midsomer Murders. They’re only a couple of episodes away from the end of Season 20 now – which is, I admit, is a Herculean effort on the part of M Sooz who has only ever binged Holocaust programs and snake-catcher videos before – but, even so, they should let me choose the series they watch next. The only good thing is that the Mummies have been so busy watching Barnaby that there hasn’t been time to get hooked on the new season of Married at First Sight. See, it could always be worse.

Let’s see if there any dinosaurs out the front.

I have been a bit busy chasing dinosaurs around Outback and bringing them inside out of the … cold. I dropped one on M Kaz’s Pacific Whale Foundation cap the other day and she wasn’t at all appreciative. More for me!

Me – in the dinosaur hide … waiting … waiting … waiting
