Friday 27 October 2023

It’s hot hot hot. It’s so hot M Kaz (yes, M Kaz!) has turned on the air conditioning in the living area and she’s had the fan on in the office. M Sooz has had the Vornado on and the air conditioning in the bedroom – and still she feels hot. I hate to tell her that it’s only the start of Summer. At least I get a breeze Outback when I’m out there and I need it because I’ve always got my fun coat (on).

I’ve been a bit traumatised this week. I’m not sure why but M Kaz took to a whole heap of my boxes with her utility knife (read: box cutter) and totally destroyed them, chopped them up into tiny pieces and THREW THEM OUT! Well, into the recycling. I still can’t believe she would do that to me. The amazing thing is that she left three for me – the Meowtown bus, my television, and the box with the cardboard packing still in it. I suppose it’s enough, but she sent some of my favourite boxes away. Hmmmm.

A couple of days later Dave arrived with another box – the one with M Kaz’s new office chair in it. I helped him put it together – and the deal should have been that he left the bubblewrap with M Kaz, the box for me and the chair for the office. Well, that didn’t happen. M Kaz asked him to take the box with him – and at least had the good grace to get him to also take the bubblewrap with him. Just as well because there would have been big trouble.

We had a visitor this week – Sister-in-law Chau who had several medical appointments here on the Coast – which the Mummies took her to. SILC stayed in my room on Wednesday night – and even though I asked nicely if we could share, she wouldn’t let me in. I wonder if this means she’s allergic to Nigeys, just like Uncle Wayne is.

And how exciting is it that Uncle Wayne is coming next week!

Friday (20 October 2023)

Well that should ease some of M Kaz’s guilt about her not doing my nails herself.  She knows Aunty M does Mimi’s nails but we all know M Kaz is too scared to do mine – in case I get stroppy. I can’t imagine I would. This morning they bundled me up to take me to the V-E-T for my nails (read: talons) to be trimmed. I knew something was up when M Kaz started closing the bedroom doors with me on the non-bed side.  They’re fairly predictable.

On the way, I kept asking M Kaz where we were going – just to make sure she wasn’t sneakily taking me to see Aunty Rosemary, but she wouldn’t answer me – just kept prattling on about getting my nails done – and refused to say where.  It could have been either – because Aunty Rosemary has tried to do my nails before  – and FAILED. So it was good we did go to the V-E-Ts where two very efficient nurses took me out the back and held me down and trimmed my nails and had me back with M Kaz in the waiting area within five minutes.  Job done.  That’s the first time they’ve told her it takes two people to do my nails – and I think she was quite happy with that piece of information.

It is good to be home though – especially beibg able to be Outback – and the even better news is that Uncle Wayne will be here soo – we’re not sure how soon but he is getting closer!

Home again ( Thursday 19 October 2023)

Well, it’s good to be home after my holiday at Aunty Rosemary’s. I think the Mummies had a good holiday too although I hope they didn’t have too good a time because they’ll want to go off on another one – another one they won’t take me on.  I know they would if they could but they are worried I would be too cooped up in the motel rooms especially if they had to sneak me in. And they know I’d miss my Outback. And I did miss Outback while I was at Aunty Rosemary’s and when I got home as soon as they opened the door, I was out there. Did I miss it more than I missed the Mummies? Hmmm. It may be better if I don’t answer that.

I have been trying out all my favourite sleeping spots again since my return but my favourite night-time spot is still on the bed with the Mummies – down by M Kaz’s feet. I’m not sure if it had anything to do with me – or that my nails are quite long at the moment, but M Kaz was telling M Sooz she had been dreaming about sleeping with a sloth – no, not a lazy person – she meant the animal with the huge claws. It’s not surprising then that I have an appointment for a pedicure tomorrow.  The Mummies think I don’t know but we’ll see what happens in the morning when they come looking for me to take me to the V-E-T.

I haven’t missed ‘The Block’ while I’ve been away and I don’t think they have either in that they have been watching the ‘ Blockheads’ do what they do – not necessarily in a productive way.  Thank goodness they’re not forcing me to watch it with them – well with M Sooz . M Kaz says she’s not watching it but I hear her comments!
