Tuesday …

M Kaz is a tiny bit of a liar. She really is. She keeps telling me she is going to take me outside but she doesn’t. She says she means to … and I want to believe her when she says it, but she has disappointed me so many times … well, once … it was just the once … and when she came home that day it was already dark … and we all know I don’t want to go out in the dark and she certainly doesn’t want to take me out in the dark … I have a fair bit of white fur but I think she thinks she wouldn’t be able to see me out there in the yard in the dark. She’s probably right.

Update: She did take me out in the yard this afternoon; I think it was because she wanted a reason to be out there so she could sit in the sun and I think she really wanted to because she is feeling a tiny bit off colour at the moment – not seriously but enough to make her into a bit of a grouch (a bear with a sore head more like!) – she’s got the sniffles, a sore throat and a few aches and pains … and she does go on and on about them so it’s good we went out!

I don’t want to be critical but while we are talking about outside, it’s time someone grabbed the lawnmower and gave it the once-over … and ventured into the garden to do a (big) spot of weeding. Hmmmm, you know I can’t do everything around here Mummies … a Nigey can only eat so many weeds and grass!

Nooooo …

Well I don’t know what’s going on but my caravan has been stolen … not the brown snow stuff, but definitely my caravan. I went out into that part of the living room that is given over to all things Nigey to get in it (well, it is more of a flat pack these days) this morning and it wasn’t there … at all. I’m not sure how anyone could have come in to pinch it without me noticing … but there it was, or rather, wasn’t. And other stuff of mine is missing as well! Boxes, my favourite paper bags that are no longer anything like paper bags, my convertible … oh wait, I’ve just found that on the couch … and let me check that stringey thing is still with us … yes, there he is at the food bowl where I left him in the wee small hours of the morning. So what on earth is happening around here? I wonder if the Mummies are missing anything too. I’ll go and have a look in the bedroom and office in a minute but let me just have a look in the kitchen – M Kaz will be devastated if her new coffee-making machine is gone – especially before she has a chance to work on foam art No, all good, that’s still there, together with the Aldi one … what on earth are they going to do with two coffee machines?!? I can remember a time when we only drank tea at home because everyone liked going out to coffee shops too much to have a coffee machine at home! Next they’ll be experimenting with different blends. Zarraffas has been mentioned.
Now, let me see if anything else is gone … nope, doesn’t look like it … and none of the missing stuff is theirs – it’s all mine. Oh no … my poly inserts from the new coffee machine box are gone … and the box! This is not good Mummies, not good at all … in fact, best I go and wake them up so they know.

Exhausted from looking for my stuff.

Dulcet Mummy tones

I was very happy to hear M Kaz’s voice this morning because it meant she had come to pick me up from Aunty Rosemary’s. It was time too because I had been keeping count by drawing marks on the wall with my claws – and no, they didn’t manage to clip them while they had me incarcerated there because, to quote them, I was too “hissy”.  Hmmm … me? Hissy? Well, maybe a little because I was worried they were going to paint my nails the same colour as Rosemary used to have her hair … green … and that just wouldn’t do.  So, my nails haven’t been done which means I might have to schedule a visit with Aunty M to do them – or M Kaz might decide she has to take me to see the vet so they can take me out the back and attend to it.  I can see why M Kaz wants me to get my nails done though … I don’t mean to but sometimes when I go to give her a little pat, when I’m being affectionate, my nails sometimes gets caught on her skin – even when she’s wearing long pants!  She obviously has a very low pain threshold because she sometimes cries like a baby when it happens!

But it is so good to be home again and M Sooz was as happy to see me as I was to see her because she had set out a new bed for me to sleep on … and I think she’s going to leave it on their bed tonight to make sure we are all warm enough – because the nights continue to be chilly!

M Kaz had been being sucky too – she’s given me a new box from Prime – the one that had the landing pad for the drone in it – yes, that would be the same drone which I haven’t yet been allowed to play with – and M Kaz has said I won’t be allowed to until she’s allowed to fly it in the house … and M Sooz has made it quite clear that that will absolutely not be happening. But at least the new coffee machine has been allowed in and I am enjoying the polystyrene packing inserts from that box very much.  See … I don’t ask for much …

Monday

It was so cold today that we all spent the day rugged up – in our beds for M Sooz and I, and M Kaz was in her office trying to stay warm as she did “stuff”. The cold didn’t stop the Mummies from going out to breakfast but they were very careful about making sure they went to the warmest coffee shop they could think of. Mmmm… coffee. And hot chocolate. And tea. But what do they give me? None of them that’s for sure … they’re not even heating my water for me. But – and this is a good but, they have found new cookies for me – theyre the Cachet ones from Aldi, and they’re not too bad at all. M Kaz was trying them out on me the other day, when they first got them; she had put out some of each – Applaws, Fancy Feast and the Cachet – and then she kept watching me to see which I ate first … yes, just for her I went to the Cachet. She must know me fairly well because she didn’t put a lot of each down … just in case I started wolfing them down, which I probably would have because it is me after all.
M Kaz is warming herself up this evening watching “The Day After Tomorrow” where a new Ice Age hits the Northern Hemisphere. That and hot chocolate seem to be doing the trick. And the ugg boots, track pants, two flannelette shirts, a woollen vest and a beanie. Did someone say it’s cold?
