What a way to start a Thursday! First I was evicted from the bedroom just after 5 am. That was okay though because I made a “nest” for myself in the second bedroom in the electric blanket (not turned on) and I was quite cosy there until those Mothers woke up and scooped me up and put me in my cat cage – but not before I’d put myself under the bed for a bit – and I probably would still have been there had M Kaz not opened the front door like we were going out – and I suppose we were going out – just not out into the yard for a wander. The cat cage … hmmm. That meant either Aunty Rosemary or … the Vet. And, yes, it was the Vet … Dr Caroline … and no she did not warm up the stethoscope first. But, to be fair, she didn’t take my temperature either so I was happy with that. No surprise that I still have my heart murmur and Dr Caroline said it is “impressive”. If we get worried about it, there are two courses of action – they can get the cardiologist in to take a look, or we can get an ultrasound to see what’s happening. In the short term, we’re good – as long as my sleeping respiration rate is less than 30 per minute we don’t need to be concerned. M Kaz keeps an eye on me, so we’ll know when it’s time to worry – she’s very good at worrying.
The real reason for the visit to the Vet was so I could have my nails done – finally. I’m sick of M Kaz think I’m trying to rip her leg to shreds when I’m kissing and cuddling her – it’s not my fault they let my nails get so long – and no, it’s not my fault that I was all – what was the word? – Hissy – when they tried (and failed) to do my nails when I was at Aunty Rosemary’s last time. But it’s done now – and the bonus is that I can go back to “stealth mode” because with my nails done, they can’t tell where I am in the house – except for when I’m dragging stringey thing – they know then!
