Banished …

This will be my last post for a while… I was right… those Mothers are despatching me to Aunty Rosemary’s!

19 April 2022
Those Mothers are definitely getting ready to go.  M Kaz has been busy doing washing and M Sooz has been busy folding the washing.  Me? I just sit on it while I can – especially when it’s still warm from the dryer.  Mmmmm… toasty!

The other way I know is that M Kaz keeps making me play stringey thing with her … which is even better because she has finally found the lost one – stuffed down the back of the couch.  I don’t know how these things get there!  But I’m glad the Mummies kept looking for it.

Because it has been Easter we have been getting to play a new game – Chicken Egg and Rabbit … or is it Egg Chicken Rabbit… I never can tell which comes first.  It’s fun though … M Kaz throws Easter Eggs on the ground – I like the blue ones best – and then I chase them and hit them – and they’re ever better than the balls because they come back (a bit) when I hit them.

Did I mention that I saw Lennie the other day … even carried him out of the garden and onto the lawn in my mouth.  I do not know what M Kaz was having conniption fits about … it wasn’t as though I was ever going to eat Lennie … we were just playing.  That Mother was naughty – she scared Lennie because when she roused on me (telling me to leave him alone) , they were startled by the loud whiney voice (yes, you read that right M Kaz, you do have a whiney voice!) and ran off.  I didn’t see them again until the next day when they went back to exactly where we had been, at exactly the same time, and Lennie was obviously looking for me.  M Kaz did not let me go out to be with them.

And because I’m going to be in communicado (read: pet prison) for the next while, here are some pictures to remind you of me.

Friday … good one

The Mummies went out and left me today… they said they were going to the Movies to see Sandra Bullock et al in “The Lost City”.  They came back all happy so they must have enjoyed it.  The problem with them going out and watching things is that by the time they arrive home, they’ve already discussed whatever they’ve seen or done … so I never get to find out how good it was.  Unless M Kaz goes by herself and sees “Matrix Resurrection”, and then M Sooz and I have to listen while she goes on and on and on about how terrible it was and how she and Anita should have just walked out.  Which they didn’t… and M Kaz says they will never make that mistake again.
So, while they were out, I slept on their bed, and ate some cookies, and spent some time on my cat tower, and then did it all again … they were out for a while!

I slept in on the bed, at M Kaz’s feet, for most of the night.  I have to be careful because there have been whispers of someone being evicted and locked out of the bedroom … and I don’t think those Mothers are talking about either of them. So what have I done to deserve this kind of treatment?  I don’t think I’ve done anything that bad.  I can’t see how anyone could be offended that I should want M Kaz to keep me company while I snack during the night.  I know she’s not sleeping that deeply when I come up the side of the bed to ask if she wants to come out to the kitchen with me.  Okay, once or twice I have played with the tube of M Kaz’s sleeping machine – that seems to wake her up almost instantly.  Hmmm … maybe there is a reason they are considering evicting me.  I’ll have to start doing some really cute things (being more cute than I normally am is going to be a bit challenging!)

Aunty M gave M Sooz a lemon tree a little while ago and M Sooz noticed this morning that it had some flowers on it. Hopefully M Kaz will now get her act together and go and get some top soil from the neighbour – he had a metre of it delivered to do some yard renovations – it turns out he ordered too much – and hasn’t started work on his project – so he’s obviously trying to give it away!

M Kaz is always trying to work out what cat foods I like and I’ve suggested a way that she can remember which ones I like. It is a reverse traffic light – red is bad, yellow is tolerable, and yes, sometimes I will eat the green one.

Wednesday

I knew they were up to something … absolutely totally they are planning to go away and leave me with Auntie Rosemary. I am not happy that they haven’t told me straight out, and that I’ve had to use all my powers of deduction to work it out. Still, I don’t know where; I don’t know when. I will have to keep an eye on them because they will need to pack bags, and electronics, and camera gear and snacks, and I think they are planning to take the coffee machine as well.  They’ve stocked up on capsules for it – including some with hot chocolate in them.  And did I see Chai there as well?

Me … busy detecting.

Aunty M came over yesterday and she brought a new box for me.  I feel as though I must be getting smaller because this box is way littler than the one she brought for me last time.  There’s a problem though because try as I might, I can hardly fit into this one.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice and cosy and I love it but my bottom does hang over the edge just a little – and my front does too, and my sides – just by a teeny little smidgen of course, but hanging over nonetheless.

M Kaz has blurred this a little for me … but you can see what I mean.

I helped M Kaz the other day with reorganizing her wardrobe. It took her a fair while too and she ended up putting lots of her clothes in the little storage boxes she bought from Aldi last month.  I knew they would come in handy. I like to think I was a huge help … and I’ve told M Sooz that I’m here for her if she needs me to help her with any projects if M Kaz can release me from her duties.

Me … in M Kaz’s closet … helping, helping, helping.

M Kaz did take me out into the yard yesterday and even though I couldn’t find Lennie, M Kaz did and as I played around in the dirt where the garden used to be, she was taking photographs of Lennie who was sitting on top of the wall watching me. I know that they usually hang out on top of the wall – and I had wanted to vault on to it as soon as M Kaz took me out – but she pulled me back before I could even start the jump.  When did that Mother learn to read minds?

Language Mummies …

Who knew that the Mummies knew such swear words. I know they have been swearing, I have the video to prove it … although the really really really bad words have been edited out!

But at least we know the horn … and the brakes … are working. I think it scared them both even though it really doesn’t seem that close a call on the video replay! Did that car have its blinkers on?

I’m glad they’re home safely – because you know they didn’t feed me before they went out!
