Sunday (late)

I can not believe that M Kaz and M Sooz are still awake at this time of night. It is 11:24pm and they have just done the Truvia quiz in the Sydney Morning Herald – not today’s … tomorrow’s. Given their performance though they really should have waited until morning. What did they get? They would be embarrassed if they knew I knew … but out of a possible 15, they managed 8. That’s right – 8! The only positive is they beat their score from the other day – their worst ever – 3. It’s hard to think I’m the smartest one around here … do you hear that Mummies? I know I am the smartest one (there’s that science training kicking in again) but I don’t want/like to rub it in. Heh heh … that’s me, smart and modest to boot!
It’s still raining and I know that because I went out in it today. The Mummies weren’t planning to take me out but while they were fumbling with the shopping and the front door, I made a break for it … and I made it too – out onto the stoop, then through the water puddled on the path, onto the grass with ground sodden underfoot, with quite large drops of water hurling themselves down out of the sky at me. It didn’t take me long to swing around and race back inside … just as M Kaz was swearing her way out to come and get me. I wasn’t out there that long so I didn’t see Lennie but M Sooz had … on her way in. He was in the lemon tree pot and it looked like he was more than knee-deep in water. M Sooz was worried about him, and once I was back inside (and patted dry with a towel) M Kaz went out to check on him. He was okay but she didn’t want to risk him not being able to get out of the pot as the water rose – as it surely would with the continuing rain, so she lifted the pot so the water drained out and then she put it on its side so Lennie could have a quiet wander, stay in the pot or go and sit in the base which still had water in it. He seemed appreciative. There was no sign of Kermie though.
