He’s back … he’s back …

He’s here! He’s here! Uncle Wayne is back and he’s living with me in my room. We have a deal … he lets me sleep in our bed during the day – and I let him have the whole room to himself during the night.  That’s okay because we all know I like being in with the Mummies at night, now that they’ve finally stopped locking me out of the bedroom.  (I know I have Uncle Wayne to thank for that too!)

My turn … my turn!

I had a busy night last night … I don’t know what it was outside their bedroom window/door but I knew I had to keep an eye on it to make sure they were safe.  Mummy Sooz was up a lot of the times when I raced in there but she didn’t seem to be all that bothered by it … just as well they have a Nigey to watch over them!  Otherwise, when I wasn’t on guard patrol, I spent most of the night sleeping out on my chair at the table.

Kaz took me out into the yard to spend time with Uncle Wayne this morning.  He’s reading a book out there in the sunshine … like he’s on holiday or something!  At least they’re staying home today – they were out a lot of the time on Saturday and Sunday and word is that they have other activities planned for this week … including Trivia … which means Uncle Wayne will be cooking up a batch of his amazing scones again … I wonder if he’ll use the real oven this time.  Hmmmmm.

Me … trying to be cool and not jump all over Uncle Wayne as he tries to read his book!

Even though the (dreaded) spray bottle is within easy reach, Uncle Wayne hasn’t reached for it once … although he did show me his huge water drinking bottle the other day – as if that was going to frighten me.  He doesn’t know me very well! I could take him on in a heartbeat!

Lucky escape …

I love it when I frighten one or both of the Mummies.  I thought Kaz was going to have a heart attack this afternoon!  She couldn’t find me so she came to look for me in my room and when she couldn’t see me on the bed, she thought she would just lie down on it and check under the bed on the other side – which is where I have been hanging out a bit since they brought me home from Aunty Rosemary’s.  Just as well she let her brainbox activate before she sat on the bed … because she decided she would just check under the covers before she did: and you should have heard her gasp of surprise, horror and relief when she realised I was asleep all the way under the covers – and not just under the covers but between the sheets!  You could hear her heart thumping almost all the way out of her chest at my lucky escape … I could have been a very flat cat indeed had she sat on me! Phew … I think we all breathed a huge sigh of relief on this one.

Fast asleep.

Otherwise I am settling back into being home again.  They did let me sleep on the bed last night … and I did take up as much room as I possibly could.  Poor Sooz … between me stretched out to my maximum length (and width) and Kaz spreadeagled on the bed, at one point she said she was thinking about moving into my bedroom so she’d be able to be stretching out too!
My stringey thing is enjoying being home too, and my little Blue friend, and Pinky.
And yes … Sooz … I do too drink out of my bowl … all the time;  but especially when Kaz freshens it up for me.  You know the other thing I love about being home … the yum cha service with my cookies.  As soon as Kaz even thinks I look hungry she’s up getting fresh cookies and putting them in my bowl.  All I can say is that guilt must be a powerful motivator!

Exiled … and almost alone …

They did it again! They took me to Aunty Rosemary’s and left me there for 55 hours – that’s over 2 whole days! I didn’t know where they were – or what they were doing or when they were coming back to get me!  It was quite distressing even though I had stringey thing with me. We all know it’s no substitute for them – or the rest of
my toys like the Christmas caravan or my aeroplane, or the beach house. But I tried to make the most of it because they always do come back and they’re always so pleased to see me when they do.

The big difference this time is that Aunty Rosemary no longer has green hair. of course she still does have hair, it’s just not green any more. It’s kind of … dun.  But she is still as nice … and I don’t care how many times you try to make me say it Mummies – she did not tie me to the roof and throw rocks at me. That’s just your guilt talking because you didn’t take me to Toowoomba with you, or have Aunty M come to see me while you were away.

There were lots of other cats at Aunty Rosemary’s this time but for the first while I kept to myself – we all know I’m a bit of a loner! The cat in the cage next to mine has slaves who are away for roughly three thousand hours – that’s four months! I’m glad I’m not her!

Aunty A must have been here while I was at Aunty Rosemary’s because the floors are really clean – and, the other giveaway, my aeroplane was up on the couch when I arrived home!

It will be interesting to see if the Mummies let me sleep in their room tonight. I hope they do because I really feel the need to s-t-r-e-t-c-h out where Kaz usually puts her feet.

No photos this time … Aunty Rosemary may or may not have confiscated my phone.

My life … by Nigey

That’s right Mummies, I have a whole secret life that you know nothing about … especially now that you think I spend the whole night in the bedroom with you.  Ha ha ha. Not true. Why only last night I had my stringey things come in to terrorize you – and they would have … had they been able to jump on the bed by themselves!  I could have lifted them up one at a time but since there were two of them, I didn’t want either of them to think they were the favourite by getting airlifted first.  Hmmmm … talk about sibling issues!

This morning was not fun when you sent the two sloths to keep an eye on me to make sure I wouldn’t get up to any skullduggery.  You know I’m not like that … and no, having a play with Mummy Kaz’s feet and legs with my claws and teeth is not skullduggery … it’s how I show I love her. And yes, I have other ways of showing Mummy Sooz how much I love her.  I am a cat of many and varied talents.

Okay … okay … you can have the chair back!

Kaz has been taking me outside a bit lately.  We went out again today – which surprised me because we had only been out yesterday.  I think she does it to wear me out because as soon as I’m finished writing this blog I intend to have a long nap on the shopping bags which they conveniently leave out for me to rest upon … or in.

I am loving the new television even though the Mummies keep threatening me with the spray bottle when I’m up in front of it giving it a good pat – which seems like it’s a scratch because the Mummies haven’t arranged to have my claws trimmed yet.  Geez, I’m not saying they’re getting long but I can hear myself walk on the wooden floors now … and I sometimes catch my toes on the carpet! I’m lucky I haven’t tripped and fallen. If only Mummy Kaz was confident enough to trim them herself without having to take me to the vet to have it done.  For a fairly confident person she can sometimes be a bit of namby (pamby).

There’s still no sign of Uncle Wayne yet but I hope he comes back soon.  I miss him!  And I might have a little job for him to help with …

… my beach house!  It has suffered some considerable damage – not my fault – it was due to haphazard (read: faulty) construction by Kaz.  Aunty M had told her there was a problem with it … but did Kaz listen … Noooooo.  And now look what’s happened!  Lucky that Minion didn’t get hurt when the roof came off and the rest of the building collapsed!

The beach house … in need of a little repair.
