Happy Birthday Mummy Sooz!

Happy Birthday Mummy Sooz for yesterday.  I think you had a great day … how could you not with both me and Mummy Kaz with you … and I know you went out to dinner with Aunty M too!

It’s okay Mummies, I’m just checking out the pineapple
… I mean it no harm … really (heh heh heh)

I really like your new pineapple thing (is it a head with feet?) too. Are you sure you don’t want to give him to me to keep me warm (and company) when you lock me out of the bedroom – now that Kaz is home again.

News report: Small cat in danger of freezing because the nights are so cold!

Having a snack to keep my strength up …

Well, it’s so cold that that could be true! Heaven knows I have no PJs to put on!

I’m still trying to get out into the yard again – to soak up the sun during the daylight hours so at least I can be a bit warmer. They keep thwarting my every best effort though. Meanies. So since they won’t let me go outside, I am doing the next best thing and hanging out in the kitchen. They won’t let me play with the big knives or the little ones though, so I have to be content with watching the soup cook (not Sooz or Kaz … I mean watching as it actually cooks) … and drinking out of Kaz’s cup (I really hope she didn’t see me!).

See that clear dish behind me … that’s my water
… but I let Kaz share it with me 🙂

Yep …

I can’t believe she called me a velociraptor … to my face!  No, of course I wasn’t upset by it … I quite like the idea of being a velociraptor … I was just surprised that she said it straight to me … and not behind my back complaining to Sooz about what I get up to!  So why am I a velociraptor – besides the fact that I like to bite Kaz?  It’s because when I’m outside now I spend my time “testing the fences” to see where the weak points are – like the velociraptors in Jurassic Park!  I can’t tell you how chuffed I am that she thinks of me that way!  Not like some nanby-panby fraidy cat!  I am Nigey … hear me roar!  Oh wait, I’m getting my entertainment things mixed up – that was Helen Reddy …who was pretty ferocious in her own right … taking on the US music industry like she did!

Sooz and Kaz went off and left me alone for most of the day today.  They were off playing Trivia somewhere – or at least that’s what they told me they were doing.  I think they make things up sometimes though because, let me tell you, when they arrived back from “Trivia” tonight, Sooz smelled of other cats again!  How could that be if they were going to “Trivia” … are you telling me that there are cats there too?  Funny that they should also smell of Tara!  Oh, what’s that … there’s more?  After Trivia there was also Chanting for Sooz but before that she was helping So with Tara.  Hmmm … so that’s where she picked up Eau d’ Tara.  I don’t mind what they do as long as they keep me in the loop so I don’t feel like a fool when I do find out.  I’m actually glad Sooz is helping with Tara – it sounds as though she’s going through a bit at the moment and if there’s anything either of my Mummies can do to help, that’s a good thing …just don’t come sneaking in smelling of Tara – or any other cats … please!

Winter is coming …

Practicing looking cute in my caravan …
not that I really need any practice at all!

Is it getting colder around here or what? Just as well those Mummies have the electric blanket on their bed now – and it works really well. It must do because they have it (or is it them?) on a lot – day and night sometimes. It’s good too because it has four zones – head and feet on both sides. Kaz likes it because it has a timer so it turns itself off after how many hours she has set it for.

Yes, Nigey, this is what the new electric blanket feels like!
Warm and toasty … like a big pat from a lovely Mummy!

Have I said lately how much I love Aunty M? She came around this morning doing a delivery run for Kaz and Sooz but really it was so she could bring me a coffee cuptray … I love them … I love them … I love them. Did I say how much I love them? You wouldnt think I’d be able to fit into one but I absolutely can – and I have a pic to prove it.

Trying my cuptray out for size ….
Me with my cuptray and the wonderful Aunty M!
It really doesn’t get much better than this!

Kaz has taken me outside again a couple of times this week and I don’t know why she seemed so surprised when I tried to battle-crawl under the front fence. It shouldn’t (surprise her) … she really has to know that anything can happen while we’re out there in the big wide wonderful world.

And on the chair under the table …

Why is it that Sooz smells when she comes home sometimes?  It was like that today – she went out with So and when she came back … there it was again – cat smells. I believe it’s because she’s been helping So with Tara –  who has been unwell lately, and Sooz has been helping with her antibiotics.
Okay, I can forgive that, but I’m not sure I can forgive that she smells of another cat as well … from what she says I’m sure that’s Mokkie (not his real name – because I can’t spell it!).
Let’s see … what else has been happening around here of late?  Not much really – except that the prayer shawl has made its way onto the bed – I told you it was getting colder around here – and I often catch a nap there during the day.  They’re still insisting on locking me out of the bedroom at night (it was much better while Kaz was away last week and I could stay in with Sooz) and it’s a bit mean because I would rather be in sleeping on that electric blanket.  Did I mention that it’s been colder?  I know that Aunty M has gotten the message … she’s talking about getting (my ArchNemesis) Mimi a jacket for when it’s cool.  She’s so lucky!

Yes, it may well be too cold to go outside for … any reason!

On a short leash …

Me … cute!

I don’t know what Kaz is on about.  She took me out into the yard on Sunday morning and she was keeping me on a short leash – she can do that because she has one that yanks the cord back when she pushes a button – because she said she doesn’t trust me since I tried to leg it over the fence last time!  Doesn’t she know that’s my job?  I don’t want her to stand there and take photographs of me and then just drift off into doing whatever else she wants to do on her phone … as though I’m not there and that she isn’t totally responsible for me while I’m out in the yard.  And it’s not like I actually got over the gate and fence and into the back yard last time.  She dragged me off the top of it before I could fully scramble over!

But I didn’t have to worry about her at all last week.  She was gone on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and didn’t get back until it was time for lunch on Thursday.  And I didn’t have to go off to Aunty (I don’t think so!) Rosemary and her green hair because Sooz stayed at home to look after me, feed me, do my tray, play stringey thing with me, and let me share the bed with her … at nighttime.  Yes, yes, I know I didn’t have to go running over it and her at 3 o’clock that morning but it was time for her to be up anyway. I was feeling a bit lonely without her.  It’s different when they lock me out of the bedroom at night, but when I’m in there I really do want to be with them – unless I’m hiding under the bed so they can’t evict me.
Come to think of it, I did spend quite a lot of time with Sooz over those few days, sometimes cuddled against her … the only thing that could have made it better was if she’d had the electric blanket on … that would have been so toasty.  But … not to be … although I did help them to put the new one on the bed yesterday.  Aunty M had arranged to get it for them from the store where she works … and let me tell you it (that would be the electric blanket) is simply wonderful.  It heats up for 0 to 100 in less than 60 seconds … oops, no, that would be the car I want to get … but the blanket really doesn’t take all that long … I heard Sooz raving about it last night.
