Mmmmm … grass!

Just as well Kaz is helping me to write this today because if it was posted tomorrow people would think it was an April Fool’s Day joke!  I have been outside … not once, not twice but THREE TIMES!  Aunty M supervised the first two times, but today Kaz did it.  I gave her a hard time of course – who knew one small cat could have so many legs when someone is trying to get them into a harness?  Kaz said she counted seven at one point!  She may have been exaggerating though – she has a tendency to do that sometimes!  But she did finally manage to get me into that stinking horrible hairy harness … and led me out into the great outdoors.  I wasn’t allowed off the lead but that’s okay … I’m sure I will be next time.

Me … outside … looking in!

It’s quite exciting being outside … I get scared sometimes when I hear strange noises (there are lots of them out there) but I don’t let Kaz (or Aunty M) know that.  And I think I’m growing to love eating grass.  Mmmm … grass.  There are so many different types of it out there … and I’m busy tasting all of it!

Aunty M … supervising … and doing a great job!
Mmmm … grass!
How fetching am I in orange?

Meanwhile, back inside things are more or less the same.  They haven’t started wearing face masks inside yet but I saw Kaz scrambling around in the hall cupboard looking for the “inside” ones the other day. I don’t think she found them, but she said that was okay because she knew she had some in Ravi too.  I’m not interested in any of that though … I just need to know that there are boxes … and lots of them!

Boxes … who doesn’t love them?
Peek-a-boo!
Can you see me now? I’m the one behind the red bear in the box!

Rain …

Rain. Rain. Rain. Then some more rain. You would have thought it was so wet that the last thing any cat would have wanted was to go outside … but not me. I really wanted to get outside … like I always do … and imagine my surprise when I finally managed to on Sunday night when the Mummies arrived from Trivia at the Nerang RSL. Usually they are absolutely on the ball when it comes to keeping me from escaping – and it could have been the meat tray and the shopping and the umbrella and the rain coat or trying to get inside quickly – but they were obviously distracted – which was when I bounded outside! How happy was I! I ran straight around to the office window to see if I could find any of my friends there … but it was obviously too wet for them (drat!), so I had a look under the seat out there … nothing … except Kaz standing there waiting … waiting … waiting … until I finally came out – at which point she scruffed me (really Kaz!), squeezed me to her chest, and carried me back inside. Hummph … I was ready to go back in anyway .. but it’s good for them to think I would stay out there indefinitely if left to my own devices!

They should realise by now that I actually don’t mind being with them. My days at the moment are spent in the bedroom with Sooz until Kaz comes home from wherever she’s been … sometimes with the cameras, sometimes not … and then if she’s at Ollie Tedesco, I will usually have a nap next to her – either on the top of Ollie, or in one of the drawers. Who would have thought you could get comfortable on a keyboard? Just about every cat in the world – but we usually stretch out on the desk too!

Nap time …

Hmmm … I wonder if I’ll ever let Kaz take action shots of me?

BBs …

Well if they won’t let me in at night, maybe they will have the stringey thing in the bedroom with them.  I took him up and put him at the door last night but this morning he was still there.  Maybe they didn’t hear him knock.  I don’t think he’s that strong really … and he can’t claw at the door or thump it with its back legs like me.

So we know that I’m way cuter than (my ArchNemesis) Mimi but the real question now is … who has the bigger bottom?  I know Kaz (as if she can talk) thought it was me but I have now seen the photos of Mimi from the other night and let me tell you … even I was amazed … there it was … a bottom the size of a small African nation!

And apparently she doesn’t even try to hide it – quite the opposite in fact. She isn’t allowed on the table but she does have a seat at the dining room table – and when she’s ready for a nap she just lies down and pops her head under the table cloth – leaving the rest of her not under the tablecloth.  She is very pretty though … if you can look see past her bottom!  Mind you, though, she must have something going for her but she gets to go outside … a lot.  Me … they keep me trapped inside and Kaz and Sooz thwart my every attempt to enjoy the great outdoors … unless I start wearing the harness.  I call it a HA…ness (with a bit of contempt and sneer thrown in for emphasis), because we all know that that is never going to happen!

I am enjoying the scratchpad in my airplane.  It’s all good except I have to sit backwards in it because the back of the plane is too low for me to sit frontwards.  Sidewards works too though – although it’s a tad awkward.  If only Kaz would fix my caravan – or at least cut holes into one of my other cardboard boxes like Aunty M did for Mimi so I have doors and windows to go through again.  But at least she lets me spend time on the top of Ollie Tedesco even though she knows that I’ll probably reach down and grab one of her toys.  I really like the lion.
