If a bear …

Is that a steam train – or some kind of angry robot come to take over the world? Or a bear in the forest? Snoring?  Is that snoring?  And why is Kaz sleeping on the couch in the living room? If she does go to sleep out here, it’s almost always at the table! (In fact, she was asleep there just a second ago!)  Ahhhh … she’s not well and she was watching television there and just laid down and went to sleep. Given that noise, I guess I am kind of glad they lock me out of the bedroom at night!  I don’t know how Sooz can put up with that … especially with the door closed … you would think the walls would be moving in and out.  And why doesn’t Kaz wake herself up with the noise … does she have a hearing problem?  Or is she just so tired at night – and during the day when she’s not well – that she can sleep through what sounds like dinosaurs thundering through the house?  You know what this means?  It means I’m not going to tippy-toe through the house at night anymore while they’re sleeping!  Let the Games begin!

On the bedside table … during the day!
See … I can touch my toes!
Waiting … waiting … waiting!
Of course I can help with the laundry!
I wish that rabbit would get up there already!  How else can I give Stephanie a piggy-back?
I’m still cuter than Mimi … aren’t I!? And did someone say brown snow?

… and so to bed …

I cannot believe that Kaz finally got round to making up my bedroom … properly this time!  I was going to ask her to put on my favourite colour sheets but in the end I decided that it would probably be best not to interrupt her as she and Wa (one of her brothers) busied themselves with the manchester.

Mmmmmm …. comfy!

Yes, Wa came to visit and it was good having a man around the house. Yes, I know Sooz and Kaz do their best, but it just isn’t the same as having someone with … what did they call it … hmmm … that’s right “male energy”.  I’m not quite sure what that means because he doesn’t really seem all that different to them … he drinks coffee (well, they drink tea), he uses the computer (so do they) and he wears pants (so do they … most of the time),  The only difference is that he seems to be obsessed with “the trawlers” – whatever they are.  As far as I can tell they have something to do with prawns (note: the little green ones are not good enough) and spanners and crabs … or is that spanner crabs?  That last one has something to do with tools … Sooz was saying they are “hard work” but a bit easier if you have the right “tools”.  I don’t know … it’s all a mystery to me sometimes.

Me and “the Bro”

Kaz and Sooz seemed quite happy to have him here … and they certainly were making sure that I didn’t get to see that much of him while he was here … they were always whipping him out somewhere “down to the water” or “to Paradise Point for a picnic” or out to that Trivia thing they always seem to be going off to. Wa doesn’t seem to mind me that much … and vice versa.  I let him share my bed with me … and I even woke him up yesterday morning … and it wasn’t easy.  First I knocked with one paw and when that didn’t seem to work, I started bashing the door (to our room … not sure why he didn’t realise he had locked me out!) with both my hind legs.  Finally at 5:30am he came out so we could have a cup of coffee and a chat … I think he understood when I told him that Sooz and Kaz don’t usually get up until late morning (heh heh …. and I think he may have believed me!).

Finally they are feeding me a food I can eat!
Did someone say: Happy Chinese New Year. I am pretending to be an Ox here … can you tell?

Happy to be home …

Why do they make it so hard for me?

It’s been a good week – and not just because I’ve been able to start biting and clawing Kaz again. Not all the time of course, that would be wrong. But a cat’s got to do what a cat’s got to do!

Luckily they haven’t put the ironing board away yet because it’s my new favourite place – if you don’t count my spot near the toaster – or the kettle that is. They still haven’t worked out what I’m watching over there … and I’m not going to tell them … yet.

Kaz is still liking her new battery-operated mower and lawn trimmer and she was out there again on Monday afternoon. I supervised from the bedroom window while she was doing the backyard – which she now calls Area C. I tried to watch while she tended to Area B and that was possible out of the cat tower window – but it was impossible to watch her in Area A which is out the front – near the road – and we all know I’m not allowed out there – except when they’ve got me locked in that red and wire cage thingey and are taking me somewhere … oh wait, I don’t even get to see it then because Kaz always has a cover over the cage thingey – like the hood they put on you in the movies… that rarely ever ends well!

Aunty M finally came to see me yesterday… and had a little play with me and Red (one of my dinosaurs) who she sat looking out the window (so he could watch the mowing too? I’ll have to let Red know it’s not that interesting). But it was good to see Aunty M and hear about my ArchNemesis and what she’s been up to. Lizards and cockroaches were mentioned but it doesn’t sound like Mimi’s pulled her escaping over to the neighbour’s yard again – which probably has a lot to do with her having lost her “free roam” privileges. The way I hear it, Mimi has to have a lead on ALL THE TIME while she’s outside now. Even I don’t have to do that … or I didn’t today while I zoomed outside while Kaz was wrestling with the screen door and some loose (as in out of the bag) groceries. I slipped past her so quickly she had no chance to do that little “keep Nigery inside” dance. So I rolled around on the nicely-warmed concrete – very toasty – and tried not to remember I was on the path, on my back, where Kaz and Sooz are still finding bits of (safety?) glass after the electrician dropped the old oven on the way out – weeks ago now. Definitely the gift that keeps on giving!

In detention!

You can’t see my face because I am locked in detention – well, I’m actually on one of my beds … but I soon will be (locked up)!!!!

I cannot believe they did that!  On Friday morning Kaz bundled me into my cat cage and took me on a huge car ride and then dumped me at this place with a woman who had green hair!  Green hair!  And almost no eyebrows.  I didn’t know what to make of it … especially as there were lots of other cats there who seemed to be in the same boat- except there were no boats – there were cages! Yes, I had my own cage and it was nice enough and the company was good … but what were they thinking?  Yes, I know they went away for the weekend but I always stay home when they go away and Aunty M comes to see me and play with me and give me food and give me face rubs and clean out my tray and … more face rubs and she plays with me with the stringy thing!
I am still trying to work out why they changed our routine but I am sure they have their reasons – even if it was just a whim.  Kaz has them sometimes.  Not many people know she can be … whimsical.

Me … being whimsical … and stopping Kaz from reading the book Aunty M gave her to read.

We were all getting on fine before that … all doing our usual thing … you know how it is!  But the good thing is they usually bring me something back when they’ve been away.

Actually Kaz is always buying us toys – I know she often buys stuff for her and then she lets me share it. The Lion was one of those – or so I thought – but Kaz is now saying that’s not the case – and I think that’s because l’ve been throwing him off Ollie Tedesco – but only because he keeps asking for it me to.
