A plan …

What to do? What to do? My current project is trying to get outside. This is going to take some planning and a lot of deviousness and pure outright cunning on my part … because while everyone might think Kaz is a pushover, she is not … she is insisting that the only way I am going to get outside is if I am wearing that bl**dy harness (like she even has any ideas where it is) … and we all know that ain’t happening. So … I watch and I wait and test the boundaries … and continue to be amazed that even when Kaz has both hands full of stuff and somehow just manages to get the screen door and the front door open, she can still do this little dance with her feet that stops me getting out. And who knew she could dance? And no, we’re not saying she dances well, just that she can. I’ll keep you posted.

Me … not being able to get outside!
Did someone say ironing board?

Meanwhile, it has been hot hot hot here of late and I am currently finding some small relief by sleeping on the ironing board in Sooz’s studio – or it will be when Kaz finally gets the rest of her stuff out of there. It’s quiet in there as well … no noisy fans or air conditioner to keep me awake. The sounds of Aiden (our dreamboat and very tall plumber with the lovely thick socks that I love to smell) on the roof the other morning was enough to do that. Heaven knows when we will see him again … now he’s finished everything he had to when installing their new hot water system and taking the old one away!

Me … not having pizza.
Me … not having toast soldiers and boiled eggs.

It rained here tonight for a while – good heavy driving rain … it’s nice to watch out the windows and I race from one to another to another … freaking Kaz out as I do! I don’t know why it freaks them out so much. Maybe they’re still worried about Cecils.

Me … not worried about Cecils … or anything really …

Thursday

Why have they been hiding my hammock from me? I only found it again today … so I made sure I had a huge nap in it this afternoon so they know I still love it.

Asleep … and loving it!

Of course, I do love everything they get me… and everything that Aunty M gets me. Although when she came today I was a bit concerned – she was a bit flustered – because this morning Mimi (My ArchNemesis) had been outside … and she escaped over their side fence and into the great outdoors – actually to the neighbour’s. It took her a while to get her back over the fence but not before she had worried Mouse half to death. Poor Mouse. Word on the street is that Mimi will be given more supervision when she’s gallavanting outside now because she is definitely outside the Circle of Trust.

Not sleeping funny!

Does anyone else think I sleep funny?  Sooz and Kaz think I do and Kaz keeps taking photographs of me when I’m asleep and also when she thinks she can make my bottom look big – yes, she’s back doing that again. If anyone has any ideas about how we can get her to stop, please let me know … as soon as you can because it is now quite urgent.

Update: Sunday now and I have been helping Kaz assemble the new misting fan she and Sooz picked up at Bunnings today. She was a bit upset towards the end as she was trying to get the blade guard on .. but with Sooz’s help she finally managed it. Sooz is sitting in front of it now … and she likes it very much!

Pet photographer …

Well… let’s see them talk their way out of this one. How could Sooz and Kaz think I would not know they have been out canoodling with my ArchNemesis – and being impressed by her “shake paws” trick. And would they tell you that she didn’t do it as soon as Aunty M asked her to? And that it took a treat/bribe for her to do it? I think not.

Yep … still no contest!

And did Kaz really have to take photographs of Mimi? I suppose she did because how else would we have the wherewithall to answer that most pressing of questions … how much cuter than Mimi am I?  Yes, I know there’s no contest really but we have to let MiMi think she’s at least in the running.  She may be my ArchNemesis but I have no desire to hurt her feelings.

See … really no contest!

Do you think Kaz will ever let me borrow her camera? I’d really like to get a photograph out the kitchen window this evening.  I know they are really curious about what it is I watch out there every night … and the best way would be to show them.  Afterall, don’t they say that a picture is worth a thousand words?  Hmmm … does Kaz’s camera have a night-vision setting … we’ll have to check that … and get her to show me how to use it … and how to set up the tripod.  Ha ha … I can see it now: Nigey … pet photographer!

This is a messy pic Kaz took of me being a sentinel at the kitchen window.
And this is me with the legs of a strange thing Kaz was using yesterday … I think they call it an “ironing board” … Kaz certainly looked a bit bored while she was using it!

Hmmph … Rexes

I don’t know why Kaz thinks I’ve gone crazy for dinosaurs – that’s her … and it’s happened since she went to see Jurassic Creatures with her family last week.  Since then there’s been the Happy Meal from Maccas which we know she ordered specifically for the dinosaur in the box, and the Red dinosaur from the Jurassic Creatures show – and now the Roaring Walking T-Rex she brought home yesterday. It’s all well and good but for goodness sake Kaz you don’t have to have it chase me all over the living room!

Me … and Rex.

That being said, Rex isn’t too bad. He’s quite fun except for the way his eyes glow orange and that his mouth drips glows red (I try not to think what/who that might be from!).

Rex … and me.

It’s a bit hot here and I keep trying out different sleeping places hoping they’ll be cool – and they mostly are. Yes, yes I know I can be in with Sooz and the air conditioning during the day (they still lock me out at night) but truly I would need another fur coat to not feel chilly in there … I don’t know how Sooz does it although I suspect that she sometimes has her electric blanket on … REALLY!  Oh wait, that’s not fair. She suffers from arthritis and the heat from the blanket helps with the pain.
