Destroyer of Christmas Trees! That’s what they call me around here now … with a slight air of awe and maybe even pride I think. Let’s hear that again … Destroyer of Christmas Trees! I think my attempts to trick them into thinking I was just concerned about the trees and how they were settling in for the Festive Season may not have been as convincing as I had hoped. Drats. Especially as there is photographic evidence of me giving one of the trees a hug after it fell down!
I am still on the hunt for those other Christmas trees and I will find them! I know they are here somewhere … I’ve seen photos of them and we all know Sooz and Kaz never throw anything out.
I know they’re smaller than the other ones and they’ve made of wood or wire, and some even have lights on them. How pretty would that be? If they turned the lights on, I would promise to be on my very best behaviour and not eat the power cable. And no, don’t believe it when Kaz tells you she saw me starting to have a munch on the power cord for the electric blanket the other day. I am innocent and without guilt – and luckily it was unplugged so I couldn’t do myself any damage. I really don’t have any idea why they say I am not to be trusted.
As I thought, there are a couple of red boxes under their bed and there are Xmas decorations aplenty in them. I am waiting for them to bust them open and start doing what they do with them so I can help. In the meantime, I keep them entertained by putting myself into different places so Kaz can take my photo and show it to Sooz. It’s a hard job but someone has to do it!

So, how many more Christmas trees is Kaz hiding around the house? She carried in three from the garage this afternoon and I know there’s another one in their bedroom at least. They have tinsel too. And my guess is that somewhere in here or out in the garage they have other Christmas bits and pieces. What they don’t have is the power pack for one of the Christmas trees and the question is whether Kaz will try to find out/remember where she put it last year after I kept trying to eat it. Hmmm. What a dilemma especially as Kaz knows how much Sooz loves having the Christmas paraphernalia up. I’m going to start snooping around to see what else I can find around the place … when there’s some, there’s always more. Come to think of it, there are boxes of shiny balls and other things under their bed. I’m going off to have a look now.
Leave me alone … I say, Leave me alone… Leave me alone … leave me… ALONE … Stop trying to pat me or play with me … can you not see I am in the middle of grooming here … and no-one needs to watch me do that! Just for that I am going to put myself away … to play with the snakes, and bird-eating spiders … and whatever “I’m a Celebrity” (because really, aren’t I?) can throw at me.
All a bit of a yawn…
I’m happy to be on this side of the screen though – and that’s how I can casually stifle a yawn when the snakes come on the screen behind me. I don’t think Sooz and Kaz like me being up there in front of the television – perhaps they are scared the television will fall on me … or just fall. My Arch Nemesis Mimi did that … bought Mouse’s television crashing to the floor and they had to get a new one. That was a while ago now though. I think they made it so she couldn’t do it again … they’ve pasted the television high up on the wall near the ceiling (as I hear it). Bad, bad Mimi. I would never do anything like that! Good Nigey, good good Nigey.
Things are still good around here although Kaz is still dragging her feet about getting the back deck enclosed so I can go out there. I’ve told her I will keep the snakes to myself and not share them with Kaz and Sooz unless that’s what they really want. I wonder if they would?
I may have been in the bad books with Aunty M for a moment or two there. When Sooz and Kaz went off to Toowoomba on the weekend, they left me home alone … again. It was a very hot day and by the time Aunty M came along I was a bit on the cranky side. I’m sure Kaz and Sooz didn’t realise how hot it was going to be – or that I wouldn’t hang out in the bathroom near the window as I do most of the time – so they didn’t leave cross-breeze windows open for me. So by the time M arrived I was hot .. and cranky. When she went to say hello to me, I went temporarily mad and nipped at her… OMG talk about biting the hand that feeds me and gives me face rubs and is wonderful to me. But golly, who knew she could growl louder than me! And that she can make herself so big! Scary stuff. But we made up soon after and we’re best friends again. She came to visit me yesterday before they all went off to Lismore for the day – and she came to see me again today .. so we are really all good!
Still as cute as ever … Just hanging around “grooving” to some tunes …
