Bl#@dy camera

She has had that dashed camera out again!  So of course I have to keep coming up with things/poses/situations for her to photograph otherwise it would get really boring here … you know what I mean – here’s a photo of me sleeping, here’s another photo of me sleeping … and look … another photo of me sleeping!

Sleeping … sleeping … sleeping

So I have to pretend to be interested in whatever Kaz brings into the house, whatever piece of clothing Sooz or Kaz puts downs (anywhere!) … just whatever.

Peek-a-boo

I sometimes think it would be good if there was another cat around here to take some of the pressure off me. I would be happy to make room for it … really.  But in the meantime, I work with what I have.  I had Graham out last night but Kaz didn’t seen to realise what was happening – that I was actually pulling his tail to make him run across the floor – not an easy thing to do if you have to do it with just paws and teeth. Sheesh … give me strength!

Shimmy … shimmy

The least they could do would be to put on some limbo music for me as I try to shimmy under their bed.  I must be getting taller because it is getting much harder to get under there … which is a shame because I really do love it … dust bunnies and all Kaz!And what was it that Kaz was doing on the floor beside the bed the other night?  Oh I know, she was looking for me … she gets so neurotic (is that a word?) when she hasn’t seen me for a while – especially in the evenings because she thinks – and quite rightly – that I am intending to put myself under the bed so it’s impossible to carry me out when they are getting ready to go to sleep for the night.  But I wasn’t there this time and I didn’t mind having a chuckle to myself as I sat down next to Kaz on the floor.  She’d probably still be looking for me under there if Sooz hadn’t ratted me out and spoiled the game.

… with my African friends!

I am a bit glad Kaz does get “neurotic” though … two nights after I did what she and Sooz are now calling the “disappearing act” – I’d done it again the next night but I was under the bed that time – they couldn’t find me again and I wasn’t in any of my usual hiding spots (I do have a few).  Luckily Kaz was at the table in the living area because it was only because she was there that she heard me in the kitchen.  She initially thought I was trying to get into a cupboard – but I was actually trying to get out of one!  I blame her of course.  She’s the one that’s been rearranging the cupboards in the kitchen – which means there is now room for me to sit on the bottom shelf of the pantry cupboard. I reckon I was locked in there for over half an hour by the time Kaz rescued me.  They’ll have to be careful they don’t lock me in there again … I might not be able to attract their attention next time … and we can’t have the neurotic one worrying overtime.

Claws are growing back nicely….

They are good to me though although it would be nice if Kaz would stop taking so many photos of me.  I breathe … she’s there, I lie down … she’s there, I go to go to find my tray … she’s there … but IT IS NOT.  What the?  Why would they do that to me?  My litter tray has been in the same place in the laundry since I came here … it’s always there when I need it … or it used to be.  There is another pretender tray where my real one used to be but Kaz says it’s for emergencies only and she would prefer I remember where she’s put the real tray – in her bathroom. I guess they think it will be better there … and one day hopefully they will tell me why.

Flat out….
One of my last times behind the venetian blind!
Busy with (guarding) the washing!

Visitors …

I don’t know why they expect me to be in a social mood all the time! Aunty M dropped by this morning to collect Sooz so they could go to breakfast and I just wasn’t in the mood for one of her absolutely amazing face rubs: she was good, she didn’t try to make me (thank you Aunty M) although I’m not so sure that Kaz and Sooz weren’t willing me too.

Me … in a cap. I am careful not to wear it backwards!

It’s been busy around here lately: there have been two men here to vie for the right to do jobs for Kaz and Sooz. I really liked one of them – Gareth the blind man – no he could see, he was here about the blinds. He did a measure while he was here-fairly essential when you’re giving a quote – and it was (beginning happy dance now) … a laser measurer. Between the actual measuring he made the red laser dot race around the floor for me so I could chase it. Great fun! And then there was Gary about the proposed carport. He had a conventional tape measure which I wasn’t allowed to play with, but he did let me sit on his sample case.

You can’t see my face … but that is me on the sample case.

Word is that there are a couple more quoters due in the new few days … so let’s see if any of those gets the “good with Nigey” tick.

Looking for a toy to play with …

In the meantime, I have been keeping myself busy – playing with my toys, sleeping when I’m tired, and complaining about Sooz and Kaz giving me the same old cookies to eat all the time (which is not technically true but makes a good story).

A bag here, a bag there, a drawer … and then to bed!

Don’t …

Kaz and Sooz have not yet worked out that the word “don’t” is not in my vocabulary … as in …  “don’t do that” … “don’t go in there” …  “don’t go under the bed”.  All I hear is “do that” … “go in there” and most definitely “go under the bed” which is where I am now that it’s their bedtime and Kaz is wanting to have an early night.
Sooz is already asleep … but I think she will wake up through the night as she often does.  I hear her in there and I drag my stringey-thing up the hall so she will hear it and know I am awake too – and ready to play.  She doesn’t open the door though – Kaz is the only one that does that in the middle of the night – sometimes.  Then she often stays up for a while, has a cup of tea, maybe a few jelly beans and a biscuit and then, half an hour or so later,  off she will trot again.  Sometimes she even plays stringy-thing or dinosaur or packing tape with me.
They do try to keep me entertained, I’ll give them that although it would be easier if Kaz just accepted that sometimes all I need to be happy is to cuddle and kiss her! Yes, yes, we all know that means something else – heh heh – better go get my teeth and claws ready and see if I can find her.

So … they do let me on the bed!
Helping out with the cooking … and maybe some eating!
Back on the bed again … and in the electric blanket box!
